The only way I'm not fricking pissed at Sean for taking him at 31 or 44 is if the NFL told teams to stay away. Which is what I think happened. You could tell Sean P wanted him and knew this shite was BS

yeah, the difference in statements from Payton from the 1st and 2nd press conference during the draft was very telling

BRPD made it clear he wasn't.

He's the one and only name associated with the murder so not clear.

After that his agent said he wouldn't sign. That's his agent's fault

Teams were stupid for falling for his agent's bluff and 31/32 will lose a 1st rd talent on 7th rd salary because of their bad decision.

I think it is pretty obvious teams were informed not to draft Collins

Doesn't Evans make a shite ton of money? And New Orleans puts guards in the probowl period which is a bonus come next pay day. Both guards were pro bowlers last season right? Even in a down year

Goodell sent out a newsletter informing all teams to not draft Collins. The Saints were going to draft him in the first round. Is this not obvious?

We should have used the 7th on him who cares if he didn't sign, it's not like most 7th rounders make the team

And yet not a single team did.

I'm so sick of this story.

Please stop wasting time w/ these discussions. You are taking away from what many regular Saints Talk posters want to discuss --- the jock sizes of the UFDA class!

Actually should have drafted him with one of their 3rd round picks dispite whatever behind the scenes pressure the NFL was putting on teams not to.

It's very likely the NFL put pressure on not to draft him after recent events. You don't use a 3rd round pick in a situation like this unless you were VERY sure he was clear.

He may want to play Tackle in the NFL and be pretty good at it but he will be a great OG for some NFL team. Should have been the Saints.

He wants to play tackle and the saints have 3 starters.

Why didn't the other 31 teams?

Denver had THREE 7th round picks and didn't get him.

His agent said he won't sign. Teams aren't going to put up with that shite.

I keep seeing that people are tired of Collins threads and I have no problem with that, the only issue I have is........why the frick do you keep clicking on the threads created about the Collins situation?! This is an LSU site, 95 percent of LSU fans are Saints fans, Collins seems to fill a huge hole in the Saints offensive line. Why the hell would we not talk about it?

Well the anger has more to do other people starting NEW threads to make comments about Collins that would work perfectly well as posts in threads that already exist.
