Cody Latimer is looking more and more like a top 20 pick in this draft. Too raw for my taste, though he certainly looks the part and was a very good receiver in college.

But I think this will make one of either Marqise Lee, Cooks, or Beckham fall into our laps at #27 as Latimer has the size/speed combo people are looking for.

3 weeks ago Latimer was a 4th rounder on the internets, "now" he's a Top 20 pick.

I just don't see it. I'm wondering how much of this is just media fabrication. They've been scouting these guys for years. How can someone now just start rocketing up draft boards?

I would need to start working out more to lift those things.

The way I've always heard it, is that its the internet and media guys finally catching up to the actual teams' opinions, not a guy "moving up" actual draft boards.

Hes def rising into a top 3 WR.

Out of Lee, Cooks, and Beckham, the only 1 that I dont see falling that much due to Lattimer is Cooks. Those 3 WRs are all pretty similar and will play similar roles in the NFL, and Cooks is the best out of those 3.

So Lee and Beckham will most likely be the WRs that drop a bit because of Lattimer. And I would prefer Lee over Beckham.

But when you have 1 position that is extremely deep in the draft, compared to the other positions, 2 things could happen. Either the WRs are coming off the board really really fast and a bunch go early, or teams wait on WRs and only the truly elite WRs go early. So its hard to predict who will be there because the draft is so fluid, especially at a position thats loaded.

NFL teams were already on him, draftniks missed out on him. After getting some leaks from a few front offices the draftniks paint him as a late riser rocketing up the draft boards or say he stood out after taking a closer look at his film.

While the Jets have been mocked to take a WR a lot, I dont think they take 1 with the 18th pick.

They spent a lot of $$$ on Decker. And still have Hill. Yes hes been a bust, but he possesses a lot of talent and injuries have hindered his development. And Kerley is a solid slot WR. And then they have David Nelson, Jacoby Ford, etc. Its not a great group, by any means. But for what the Jets do, they dont need that many WRs.

The Jets arent the type of team that spreads the ball out too much. They ran 1,051 plays on offense last year, and 57% of those plays did not have a WR on the field for them. At all. And when they did spread it out, most of the time they had 2 WRs and a TE. Bilal Powell was also very involved in their passing game as well.

If I were the Jets, I would go CB. Dennard or Gilbert will be there most likely. And even if Milliner progresses this season and becomes a solid NFL CB, they still need another 1. Right now, their 3 CBs are Milliner, Kyle Wilson, and Dimitri Patterson. All 3 guys have major question marks. And the key to a Ryan run D is a legit shut down CB. They dont have that.

I could see them taking Ebron as well. The ran a lot of double tights last season with Winslow and Cumberland. Cumberland has had his moments in the pass catching game, and is a solid blocker. Pairing him with Ebron would give them 2 very good TEs that compliment each other very well.

I just think there is so much depth at WR that the Jets could get 1 of quality value in the 2nd round. And they have 12 draft picks. They could, and should, be very active in the draft. They could move around a lot.

It all has to do with the talking heads having too much time on their hands. McShay is pumping Latimer like he's a 20 year old beauty queen. Every time I see or hear McShay here lately, he spends 50% of his time talking about the guy. Reminds me of Kiper's crush on Brady Quinn.

I think Lee is the odd man out if he falls which is fine because I like him. I'm weary of Latimer, he's got all the measureables which is great, but look at his film, he doesn't use his big body to come back to the ball enough at all. It's strange because he has good hands, but he waits for it to come to him too much. Not ideal to me that it isn't something that is almost innate to him at this point in his life. Then again the knock on Lee is too much of a body catcher and I like him.. To each his own I guess

Odell has also been on a continuous rise. He's gone from a 2nd rd pick to possible top 15. I've seen one mock with him going at 10.

If Latimer is there at 27...Watch us draft him...I wouldn't mind it depending on who else is on the board.

I saw a mock yesterday, think it may have been via Walter Camp's site, that had him mocked to us. This entire draft, and the drastic movement of players being mocked, is utterly ridiculous. This guy is no better than a mid 2nd round pick, and yet he's now being projected as a 1st rounder only because guys like Brandin Cooks and Odell Beckham have flown up mock boards and some QB's and others have fallen, or are falling.

Anyways; give me Brandin Cooks, Odell Beckham, or Kelvin Benjamin way before this guy or Marqise Lee for that matter....The way these WR's are being mocked though, I'm finding myself more and more leaning towards the side of draft DB first and WR in either the 2nd or 3rd round. It just doesn't make sense to me for us to reach for one of these guys.
