Beckwith was a steal for the Bucs, IMO, but with the Saints needing immediate help on defense, I was fine with them passing on him.

Good point.
18 games played (with 10 starts) vs. 44 games played.
That Beckwith has such a long injury history.

There is a difference in currently being injured and unable to participate in drills, and having already overcome an injury. The UF linebacker, who can play outside, was able to workout for teams and excelled.
Beckwith and the UF cat aren't similar players at all either. Beckwith is strictly inside at this level.

Don't worry, we will see plenty of LSU linebackers this season and for awhile. We handled Debo real well last year.
