quote:frick GOODELL. But frick the excuses too. The Pats have suffered draft cuts twice. TWICE. The fact is Loomis or Payton or whoever is responsible starting doing to much blow and self-gloating and our team has become one of the least talented in the entire NFL
who knows might have happened with a fewmore drafts or dfree agent pickups.
Fact ofthe mmatter is we were legit contenders and the team to beat each year. Then Goodell took our franchise at the peak of its golden age poised to start a dynasty and butt fricked it into the ground. People forgetthat was only 2 seasons ago.
Never fforgive and never forget Goodell single handedly ruined this for us
.I hope his dick falls off and he gets raped by demon forever

My B. I meant 2010. Had the 7th ranked D.

2010 was a legit unit, but I think it gets forgotten when you relive beastmode in the playoffs.

I think you mean 2010.

Even in 2009, the defense was ranked 20th, but turnovers. We gave up a bunch of yards.
People that want to point out the playoff appearances when talking about those defenses seem to forget how insanely good our offense was in that stretch.

I remember lots of Chris Ivory too.

I still scratch my head as to why we let him go

it is very unfortunate...hindsight being what it is.
While I love Ingram and the fact that he has matured into a very productive RB...at the time RB was not really a need. Between Pierre Thomas, Reggie Bush/Darren Sproles, Chris Ivory, and Joique Bell we had a solid stable.
We spent a 1st and 2nd to acquire Ingram who took years to develop here vs the ready players we already had. Those picks spent in a different direction could have a much different impact on the team today than the path that we chose.

Have they also suffered the loss of their head coach, defensive coordinator, offensive coordinator, front office staff, multiple coaching assistants, key players, team leaders, and draft picks for an entire season all at the same time?

5 offensive turnovers in one playoff game isindeed insane

some good comments in here
I too, year after year, keep saying- just get to average on D, run of the mill, rank in the teens and the Saints are a first round bye team.
There is still time for another ring for Brees. They've gotta do better on the free agent selections and draft picks tho. Invisible Byrd replacing the now suddenly better Malcolm Jenkins is a great example. Last year was really rebuildingi on the fly. If Anthony and Kikaha can continue improvng as impact players the corner might be turned.

You brought up the offense performance in the playoffs when 3G was here.
I pointed out the obvious.

You might even say his career and his numbers were almost wasted.
