He got his chance. Time for Luke to go coach high school football on Tatooine.

Anyone honestly think he's better than Griffin?

I don't understand it at all, but with Griffin getting no shot today, it seems Luke is back and Ryno is the odd man out.

I hoping he's just satisfied with the work Griffin has done and he's seen enough to hold that 2 spot.

I honestly cant see other reasons for giving a 10 year vet this much playing time. He is what he is and there is nothing we will find out about him that we dont already know.

I think Griffin's history. Drafting Grayson portended that. And then today. If McCown's lousy outing was it for him, they would have played Griffin in the 2nd half.
They'll try to trade him. Not sure about that unless a good team wants and they can't risk a bad team grabbing him first.
I think he'll be on the active roster of another team. If not, the taxi squad of another team.

I think they saw what they needed to see, another lousy outing, offense with no heart and no rythmm. I think this was McCown's opportunity to win or lose the back up position. In which case I say he lost it. Griffin stays and McCown goes.

Nah, you read it right. I just think it's painfully obvious that McCown is not the answer. I'd rather take my chances with the Griffin and Grayson.

Sean P does

Three preseason games and he still doesn't look like a clear #2.

I actually talked to Mike D yesterday right before the game. I asked him about the backup QB's, especially Ryan Griffin. He gets the impression that Luke McCown will be the backup and Grayson will be the third QB and Griffin would be the odd man out.

But Mike had some reasoning...if something happens to Drew Brees, you have Ryan Griffin--a guy who has zero NFL regular season experience--as the QB in that case if you get rid of McCown. And, FWIW, Mike also said that Drew and Luke have a great relationship.
