Anyone talk about the fact that Brees' face was swollen and lip busted after the game yesterday and besides the loss he seemed to be pretty pissed about something in his post game press conference. I know the roughing the passer call when he was hit helmet to helmet probably should not have warranted a flag, but then again maybe sometimes the NFL does have a case when being overly concerned with player safety....

Well it was a pretty blatant rule violation

Why would it not warrant a flag? It was a text book rule violation.

Glad Drew is OK.

I came home from the Dome and turned everything off (total media blackout) and didn't see this clip until this morning. I was pissed off. As much as I hate to be a downer, I know football is a rough sport, yada yada, but I'm sorry -- having your Pro Bowl, league-MVP, multi-zillion dollar franchise QB end up getting his face roughed up like a punch-drunk boxer, and losing the game, is pretty darn unacceptable. Watching the game, it seemed like the O-line play really fell apart in the second half, or maybe the Titans just simply figured out how to beat us and out-muscle us. The coaches had no answers, and there certainly didn't seem to be much of any emotional, physical or visceral reaction by the rest of his team mates, while Drew was getting killed out there. Having your elite franchise QB end up looking like that after a game -- boy, that ain't a good sign for the rest of the year. One of the lowest lows of the whole Payton/Brees era, if you ask me.

Titans wanted it more. They couldn't stop us for a quarter and a half and we decided they were chumps and we didn't need to step on their necks. Whoops.
