Salary cap reasons. Post June 1st cut probably saves some cash.

Probably would just be designated as a June 1 cut, which means we could cut him prior. You get 2 a year I think.

Post June 1st cut saves the Saints about an additional 1.3 million, thus lowering the dead money and cap hit.

If he was cut now a portion of his bonuses would count against the 2015 cap, we don't have enough cap space left to absorb it.
Don't know if he'll be designated as a June 1 cut or not, but I don't think he can be released until the first day of free agency.

OK here's the thing all the cuts that have been announced will not actually be finalized until the league year starts on March 9th but they have still been announced by the team. Nobody from the team has said a word about Browner being cut. Even if Browner is slated to be a post June 1st cut nobody from the team has announced him being cut which leads me to believe that he hasn't been cut but he is being traded. We will have to wait until March 9th to find out but don't be surprised if this is the case.
