He didn't necessarily miss him. He got slammed hard as he was throwing. He was off his feet when he released.

The oline has been shite going on two years and Payton hasn't done shite. Sure he'll blame others for this teams failings but his lack of talent evaluation skills lies at the heart of this decline.

I know just playing that would have been a legit throw next to impossible

I think it has something to do with Brees demanding such a big contract. There wasn't enough left to pay the guys that blocked so well for him in years past.. my 2 cents.

Hardly.

Our guards are paid HUGELY.
They're just not performing.

Drew needs to chip in and buy himself an effective OL.

tends to happen when you get crushed as you release the ball

The $21 million cap hit between the guards should be enough

You cannot expect an OL to hold the line forever. If an OL is giving you 3+ seconds it's doing its job.

The O-Line needs serious help. A new RT, a new center, and at least one new guard.

Keep Strief as a great backup and Armstead is your anchor at LT. Cut Evans and keep Grubbs.

That said, Brees is playing like a derp. Passes look off and he's holding onto the ball too long.
