Ok so since they did it do they now not have to donate money? Isnt this how it is supposed to work?

Its really to create awareness, but most I've seen are doing both. I guess "you" aren't supposed to want ice water dumped on you, so you donate. Its raised over 4 Million for ALS Foundation.

It's to help spread awareness. I got challenged; I'm going to do it as well as donating money to Team Gleason.
