Drew did not look like a $20M QB on the td pick, out route to Jimmy causing a FG, and a ball to Joe Morgan, Meach, and a few others that were meh.

Your thoughts on this?

Offense really didn't seem to be the problem if you were watching the game at all...

Looks like he is heaving it to get it downfield and it is often a bit underthrown.

We'll take a beating for this here, but I noticed it too.

The TD pick wasn't underthrown. Drew missed his spot, and said as much.

Looked the same to me.

Nothing stuck out as unusual from any other year.

Timing on longer throws is just as critical as arm strength. May need to get it out quicker.

I've been saying this for the past couple of years. The man produces some crazy numbers but he almost has nothing on the deep ball now. It makes me wonder if this is his surgically repaired shoulder coming in to play finally.

I better not hear anyone ask him about possibly playing at 40 ever again.

It was late getting there, so yea, it was in the wrong spot by default. That wasn't necessarily arm strength, but it was late getting to where it need to be. Several throws were and the longer ones is where arm strength makes a bigger difference.

Hollier, this is about Bree's arm on the deep ball and not the defense.

No different than its been the rest of his career. In fact, this thread gets started at the beginning of each season. Brees will remember that he can't do that although he tries it every year, we adjust, and offense returns to form.

Brees has never had the biggest arm. His success is built on accuracy and timing.

The deep passes yesterday were no different. The Falcons just had good coverage.

I was at the game, and arm strength wasn't the issue. He had two deep throws that were over thrown, not under thrown.

Offense did more than enough to win, the rebirth of the 2012 Saints D is what cost us the game.

God does it hurt losing to those turds.

He doesn't have a cannon, but if you can't see a difference with is deep ball from the '09 season and what has happened in the last 2 or 3 years, you haven't been paying attention.

Drew has been declining in downfield accuracy for a few years now... 20-40 there's no one better... But 40 up, 7/10 times it seems to be under thrown

This. Both deep throws to Morgan & Meachem were underthrown on purpose to give them a chance at jump ball. On neither play did Morgan or Meachem have the necessary separation to lead them with the pass. I can't see how some don't understand this.

Everyone wants to point to '09 & '11 but many times in those seasons, receivers got several steps behind defenders which allowed Drew to lead with the ball beautiful. None of the receivers did this on any of the deep throws yesterday. Until we see a receiver get a few steps on a CB, no one can possibly form a conclusion that Drew lacks arm strength on the deep ball.
