5 away games: 20 receptions 186 yds 1 TD (td in Georgia dome)
4 home games: 28 rec 314 yds 2 tds
Also his rushing TD was at home.
Is this on Brees or Cooks?

why are they the only options? couldn't it be coaching?

Oh, sorry. Forgot the Saints Board line is that Brees is awesome home and away.

There is a discrepancy there, but I don't see how you can pin that on Cooks.
the offense as a whole is less explosive on the road. It has to do with the offensive line and Drew Brees more than the WRs.

yeah definitely didn't say that
just wondering why you couldn't just have a more broad spectrum for purposes of discussion, but it seems you're just going to be a dick

What are his targets home vs away?

Neither, it's the o-line. Without the advantage of the snap count, and difficulty communicating in a noisy environment Drew has less of a pocket on the road.

this thread is fricking stupid

Yea, I don't think it comes down to Brees or Cooks.
Would be nice to see his targets home Vs. away.
Offense as a whole looks different on the road. starts at the top with coaching and trickles all the way down.

Exactly.
You also have to consider that he is a rookie, and we started our 1st 2 games on the road.
Also have to consider the absence of Stills early in the season.
Also have to consider that we've expanded his route tree to include verticals now with the improved run game and pass blocking
Also have to consider that Thursday games have an impact on passing statistics. Teams tend to run more and have less success through the air

One of his best games was the Atlanta game, on the road.

Cooks' numbers have gone up since Still has returned, but not on the road.

the Thursday game was arguably his second best road game after the opening weekend.

Colston stats:
Home: 20-173-1
Away: 32-307 (this includes the Cleveland game where he was shut out.)

For a WR, his best friends are the QB and the OL.
Right now, both suck of those scuk on the road, which makes his numbers look worse.

Stills: (4 road games/4 home games)
Away: 20-262-1
Home: 18-137
The point being that Cooks has big games at home and is fairly quiet on the road. If you look at Stills and Colston, their numbers go up on the road.
So, I ask again: Is this because of Cooks or Brees?
Is it on Cooks because he is not getting open on the road? Or is it on Brees from either subpar play on the road OR because he is going to his more trusted (i.e. experienced) receivers?
Would be nice if people could get their panties out of a wad and actually read the questions without jumping to conclusions.

Who was it that said they might be unintentionally holding Cooks back? It might've been Brees himself. I mean, it's not like Cooks can make the ball come to him. I've seen him get wide open on some plays, but he wasn't the first read, so Brees went elsewhere.
Yet Cooks has made some of this team's best catches. His first catch against the Falcons was impressive. Then he gets behind the Packers, drops one, then comes back and makes an even tougher catch to redeem himself.
And he's also one of the few players that goes up and GETS the ball. Graham, Colston, Stills. They're too passive. Or they've been spoiled by Brees' accuracy. Either way. Cooks should be a stud for us for years to come.
