I still think we should trade up for that Sandcastle guy.

Yeah the Ivory trade will be interesting. It's possible we just get a 4th, and after the trade to 10 we would have two 4ths and a 6th left which I know people would hate. If we get a 3rd at the expense of our 4th we would be left with a 3rd and a 6th.

BUT if someone is there in a round we have no picks for Payton has shown no qualms about trading next year's picks for a pick this year.

But I think people are overlooking us taking Reid at 15 if that's where we are.

I can easily see him and Ansah flipping places.

Would piss me off 10x more than Mingo, and I'm not a huge Mingo fan.

Seriously. If Jones is there and the Saints don't take him, it will blow my mind. Maybe if Mingo is also there and they take him, but if a stud OLB is there waiting to plug right into the new 3-4 and they pass?

Potential stud, which we have 3 NFL ready OLBs that are young and fast already. I honestly think the Saints would take a safety or wide receiver before an OLB.

You would be the only people that I have heard thinking this is a realistic pick for us at 15.

Not saying I would like it at all. I just think people are not seeing that scenario. If we can't get Johnson I would much prefer a trade back over any projected 15th pick. But I really don't see a trade back as likely at all.

Absolutely no one had us taking Meachem, and Robinson was a head scratcher for many. The Saints usually have a very different board from most teams.

They said they really like Reid and I believe them. I don't think they are sold on Jenkins, and Harper may be a cap casualty next year. Round 1 is the only round they are going to get him. It would make more sense to trade back and get him but I don't see that happening.

Again, not saying I like it, but it seems the only safety people link us to is Vaccaro and I think the Saints like Reid more.

We've been waiting for a defensive stud for so long...I would have a breakdown in Jones is there and we don't take him

right, but what if the coaches view him as a risk/late first round pick. I think he's a stud and so do you but we just don't know what their board is.

I don't think people are seeing the scenario because we would go Vaccarro or Cyrpien well before we went Reid at 15... No one else is taking him in the top 25. Even if we were crazy about him we could still get him in the event of an "unlikely" trade back. And there's 0 chance we pass on Jones if he is available. ZERO. (I think...)

I really like our OLB as well. We have 2 guys who have had pretty damn solid NFL success in limited roles. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if we get one more olb vet for cheap and use a combo of Junior, Butler, Tez, and said vet.

Because I disagree with the masses on here and am suggesting getting positions of need outside of OLB?

We have 3 very high potential OLBs already that are young. We have two aging WRs and two unproven guys. We have two safeties that ranked dead last last year(though I think Harper moving back into the box immediately makes him 10x better) with a guy with some potential at FS.

Which of those 3 sounds like the highest need? Second highest? Least highest?

that's just silly, I wouldn't put anything past this FO. If they went up and took Keenan Allen at 15 I'd be shocked for all of 3 minutes.

Since the Panthers trade back we have no shot at that, so if we stand pat because Johnson is gone before 10 expect Reid, Jones, or Patterson.

This is why I think we DON'T get an OLB in the draft. I think it's much more likely we get a vet at minimum salary because what we lack is experience, not skill.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if we took a corner or receiver. Depends on if the one they rate highly is there.

It's happened before. See Meachem/Robinson.

I was kidding which is why I said ( I think..). That said I really want Jones. I really wanted Burfict last year but he fell off the map because of character concerns. Still can't believe no one took a stab at him in any round. Was a stud this year for the Bengals. (totally different scenario I know, but still). I'll be happy regardless as long as the first round pick is one of the 3 OTs or defense. That's not too much to ask
