The Saints are one of the teams that would draft Andrew Luck. They could trade Brees and something else to het him.

yes. we will trade a proven superbowl winning elite quarterback for an unproven, albeit talanted, rookie.

I like Cowherd because he's sometimes hilarious, but man he has his moments.

Chase is being groomed by Sean Payton to be our version of Aaron Rodgers.

Oh Cowherd. All he wants is for Saints fans to come back and post this garbage. Means more notoriety for him.

I wouldn't completely rule something like that out. But by the time Drew is washed up, Chase will be 33.

the guy who spends 7-8 years as a backup is a guy who couldn't start elsewhere.

I would like to see a ranking of all backup QB's to see where Chase falls. My guess is probably in the bottom 16.

not easy ranking backups tbh. tough to include talent and systems and dudes past their prime, unknown talents, guys w/ limited opportunities... its just not easy to assign numbers.

Funny how that dickhead didn't call out Tom Brady and the Pats. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Brady older than Brees?

Although it is safe to assume that Brady will play until he's 40 since no one is allowed to touch him.

To be fair, Cowherd was just using the Saints as an example of a team that would be smart to draft Luck, if given the opportunity, despite already having an established QB. He said they could bench Luck for 2 or 3 years then trade Brees when he's past his prime. He wasn't suggesting the Saints trade Brees now for Luck.

FWIW I think Brees has more than 2 or 3 great years left.
