back to back timeouts

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that a team cannot take consecutive timeouts. When Atlanta's kicker took a timeout after the rodey white catch and timeout, should it not have been denied? Also, wouldn't there be a clock runoff of x amount of time??

Apparently the NFL took away their first timeout and made it an injury timeout even though Roddy had already made it off the field and on the sidelines then allowed them to call another one

If true, that is an absolute fricking joke, and almost a blatant disregard for the rules that they are supposed to uphold.
