“I didn’t sign up for nine snaps, though, but unfortunately that’s the way the game played out,” Peterson said, via the New Orleans Advocate. “In my mind, personally, I knew it was gonna take some adjusting. You know, me and Mark played in the last preseason game, AK didn’t even play that game. So with all three of us being out there, I knew it would take a game or so to kind of get adjusted.”

I hate how one sentence is always taken out of context and sensationalized by the media. I'm not nearly as perturbed now that I read the rest of what he said

If the Saints aren't down 17 in the 4th quarter, he will get more than 9 snaps.

Until then, 9 it is.

It does seem strange to have Kamara run as much as he did.

A change of pace back, ok.
But he's third string and a rookie.

yeah that is why i added the "however" because there was more to what he said than the main media headline.

If the line can't win at the point of attack, Peterson isn't going to be effective with 9 or 90 snaps.

He's also a better option/more of a threat in the passing game. On that one pass play inside the 5, if Peterson doesn't slip on that play action route, he scores. He was option 1 on that play. Drew couldn't get it to him.

This is Browner part 2. When will the saints take Sean Payton;s keys away from making decisions? Oh when they finally fire him for stupidity.

Every word of this is exactly what I was thinking. Hell, people were still talking about the shouting match between Payton and Peterson days after Peterson clarified what he told Payton. This is why people don't trust the media.

New Orleans has definitely missed on free agents lately.

Brandon Browner
Dannell Ellerbie
Nick Fairley (bad luck, good signing)
Jarius Byrd
Brodrick Bunkley
Keenan Lewis
Champ Bailey
CJ Spiller
James Laurinaitis

Adrian Peterson and Coby Fleener are wait and see types, IMO, but the above all failed for one reason or another. Some guys were over the hill, some had unforeseen health issues, and some just stayed injured.

Bailey and Laurinaitis were vet decisions

Bunkley, Lewis, fairley were good signings. Injury and health beat them.

Spiller, Browner, and Grubbs was bad.

Trading for Ellerbe was a wash considering we got a pick

With the run game being shut down so much, it seemed strange for any of them to continue running as much as they did.

Isn't what he signed up for? Who the hell does he think he's fooling? No one was blowing up his agent's phone and throwing money at him during the offseason.

The Vikings opted out of his $18M final year and the market determined how much he was worth. After quite a while of waiting, the Saints locked him in for only $3.5M in guaranteed money over 2 years.

So how about AP shut up, do his job, and average more than 3 yards per carry on those 6 rush attempts he did get before spouting off like that.
