I'm ok with the draft. Saints should have moved up from the 32nd to 29th, but we get an OT that will be needed in the future, and you never know how Armstead's health is going to be. Looking at Kamara, I understand he was a huge value at that pick position. However, Anzalone was a real reach. Rivers, Hall, Williams and even Beckwith seemed better picks. At least Beckwith proved he was an elite LB prior to his injury. Anzalone hardly played. I don't like this pick.

Basham or Rivers should have been the pick

Sitting on your hands for Foster to fall to you while trading a 2nd to grab a RB is the Payton draft era in a nutshell.

frick defense. I need my toys.

1) Beckwith is a tweener. I like him and all, but I'm not sure he's what we need.

2) Anzalone played just as well as Beckwith when he was healthy.

3) His description reminds me of Ellerbe. Good when healthy, but not healthy often. Maybe they want Ellerbe and Anzalone to combine to get a full season out of both combined.

6'2" 243 isn't a tweener.

He's the white version of Ellerbe. Good when he's healthy but the problem is he's rarely healthy.

I think they want LB depth first and foremost, and will platoon as needed. Throw the bodies out there and hope somebody steps up .

Rivers at 76 made the most sense. Would have completed this draft. Then get Beck or another LB at 103.

It was there for the taking.

I think this was really the only big reach pick. Don't care what Mayock had him rated he seemed like a guy we could've picked late in the that round or even possibly later. His injury history is too much to overlook on a team that can't keep defensive players healthy, IMO.

But the point is, Beckwith got hurt too- how do we know how good he will be when he comes back? Anzalone was a solid player for Florida when healthy, I trust that the Saints management checked him out and felt he was worth the risk. Same thing with Lattimore...
