I wouldn't mind seeing him back now with Byrd helping him over the top

He might not even be physically ready until or after camp.

Vet minimum to see if he has anything left wouldn't be a surprise. Not until he is physically ready tho.

I think that he retires. Some small comments I heard when he was released seemed to suggest that he is ready for life after football. I could be wrong.

If I'm not mistaken July would be about 9 months since the injury, right? Since no one else will probably sign him, we could get him very cheap for a one year rental. Then he can retire as a saint

No. Time to move on unfortunately. Might as well Draft a rookie and groom him if he merits playing time. With Byrd and Vacarro you now have quality safeties to assist the weak corner. Game plan is key. Lewis is solid to man up on 1 wr, so you help the 2nd corner, whoever it is. The old guard is out.

wouldn't be surprised at that either. He's a devoted father and renaissance man of sorts. Some guys go out kicking and screaming other decide to do it more on their own terms.

Yes there's a chance, not sure how likely it is.

If he heals, then I think this would be a good move. He knows the system, played at a high level and is still relatively young. I believe we offer him the best spot for his career. Nothing will happen until July though
