Defense was playing well. We are clearly better than Minnesota. Why risk field position with that stupid onside kick?

They had like three chances to recover it before the Vikings touched the ball. Blame the players for not executing a very good call which fooled the Vikings.

Without Payton this beautiful thing we call an offense and that Super Bowl we won a couple years ago never happen. Take the good with the bad and quit calling out people as if you want to fire them or something.

Its just wrong place wrong time. Don't give them a gift. They stink! They have 80 yards of offense. They are only in the game because of our stupid mistakes and that was one of them.

So if one of the 3 times we could have recovered it we actually picked up the damn ball he would look like an aggressive genius. People are such bitches sometimes

This. It's not Payton's fault that 2 guys completely botched the recovery.

I think the risk/reward factor made it a great call even though it proved unsuccessful. The risk is in giving them better field positition - around midfield, which could happen with a regular kick-off run back anyway. The reward is a turnover! An extra possession for our offense. What gives it the added bonus is that it was totally unexpected, and therefore made the chance of success much higher ( better than 50%). It also shows trust in your defense.
