If Fairley is too rich for the Saints, they could sign Bennie Logan. Overthecap projects he'll get 4yr/$27M ($13M guaranteed). LINK /. He's a 1-tech and a great run defender. Plus, he's an LSU boy. I think we could roll with Logan and Davidson as run stuffing 1-techs, and Rankins and Onyemata as 3-techs. The latter two would be on the field for passing downs.

The DT market this offseason is pretty saturated, so I'm hopeful we can work a deal out. If not, there are plenty solid options out there.

Bennie Logan
Jonathan Hankins
Dontari Poe

I'd take any of the three, especially Hankins just so we could have Hankins and Rankins.

No, they need to resign Fairley. Although it would be a Saints move to finally sign a decent defensive free agent and let them walk after a year.

Fairley just seems like the type to play for the big contract the slack off. If we sign him then hopefully it's only 1 or 2 yr deal.

Logan would be a downgrade for sure. He hasn't exactly lit it up in the NFL he was a 4th round pick and pretty much played like one.

Fairley had more sacks last year than Logan does in his career.
