While there is an avenue to go down with this thought process I still think the bottom line is that this organization is in far worse shape than 0-4 without Drew. In fact, I honestly think there is still potential for the playoffs if we gel this Sunday night moving forward.

While I agree with you, this is just a funny statement

We can be worse than 0-4

I for one think this makes no sense. Yes, Brees has struggled at times early in the season, but by no means is it his fault first for the record or state of the franchise. You bring Payton back, and get a couple more turnovers on offense and this team is 3-1 or 2-2 and no one is thinking anything of it. Just some guy writing about something he knows nothing about. I dont like seeing national reporters writing about certain teams unless they are writing about outcomes of games. The local reporters know more about the state of the franchise as a whole.

He sounds like a whining douche who can't get over himself because he was wrong.. and has to blame Brees.

The fact that he uses words like "poster boy," or "golden child," just goes to show he is clearly bitter.

Isn't Brees leading the league in passing yards?

Only team to make the playoffs after going 0-4 is the 92' Chargers. It would be a serious uphill climb and with this defense that would make it like Mt. Olympus.

An annoying a-hole that is on the Sirius NFL channel during mid-day. I can't even listen to him, have to change the channel during that time.

All of our losses have been very close. If we had Payton for those games we'd be 4-0. Plain and simple. There is absolutely no reason anyone should blame Brees for this

Schein has been one of the more positive on Saints analyst for a while. That said, he is more of the talking head entertaining sort than respected football mind among them. Sounds like low hanging fruit shite stir idea to me.

Yea you're right he's been horrible. Forget the fact that he has no defense, no running game and no head coach. Yet he's singlehandedly kept the games close. But you're right, he sucks

How is suckfest interpreted to him being horrible? Jesus Christ, or should I say Drew Brees according to this board.

One thing's for sure: Brees and his agent did not leave one nickle on the table when they closed the deal.

I don't blame them at all. This is a business, not a charity.

anyone who thinks otherwise is foolish. At age 33 it could be his last payday. If some do not realize, NFL contracts are not guaranteed. As soon as you cannot cut it, are seriously injured, or the team just doesn't want you anymore the paychecks stop. This is huge leverage for the teams vs. NBA & MLB contracts that you are stuck with being guaranteed. It is also why ya see a ton of back loaded deals- numbers that look nice on paper but the player is very unlikely to ever see (Will Smith $9-10mil salary in 2013-14).

Yes our defense has been lousy, but it has been lousy for the last two years actually. The defense has had a habit of poor tackling since the SB season.

With that being said, in the past, the offense has had the ability to move the ball at will on any team. It is NOT all Brees fault, but in all of the games he and the offense have went three and out far to frequent than we ALL would have come to expect from them.

Bottom line, I think the article and talking heads thought that without having Payton, Drew Brees would still be able to carry the team at least on offense....Drew have been able to put up yards and pts, but I think we all can admit that the offense is not what we are used to seeing. The situational play-calling has been terrible, but being the All-Pro that Brees is I would think he would audible out of those Play-Calls, like a Manning, Brady, or even Rodgers, but he hadn't.

I still think the season is savageable. We will turn it around this weekend.

I like the personnel I saw on the field last Sunday. On 3rd downs I think we should move Harper to LB and put Qudus at strong safety more often and play a front four of Galette, Johnson, Hicks, Jordan more often. This group gets more pressure from what I have seen.

Still believe there is time for Spags to turn some of the current personnel into savages
