Bear with me: Shows you, NE has a lot of misses (overall average that stretch for them), but that stretch was BRUTAL for us and why we're seeing problems now. Literally being average would give us 3-4 more contributors. That would be huge.

2012:
3rd - Akiem Hicks (Traded for Hooman)
4th - Nick Toon (cut)
5th - Corey White (cut)
6th - Andrew Tiller (cut)
7th - Marcel Jones (cut)

2013:
1st - Kenny Vaccaro (on the team)
3rd - Terron Armstead (extension on the team)
3rd - John Jenkins (cut)
5th - Kenny Stills (traded for 3rd and Ellerbe who has been cut)
6th - Rufus Johnson (cut)

2014:
1st - Brandin Cooks (traded for 1st)
2nd - SJB (cut)
4th - Khairi Fortt (cut)

Hits:
2/2 on 1st rounders
0/1 on 2nd rounders
2/3 on 3rd rounders
0/2 on 4th rounders
1/4 on 5th rounders
0/3 on 6th rounders
0/1 on 7th rounders
1/1 on UDFA
Total: 6 players in 17 draft-eligible players

Ok now do a real comparison, like us vs the Browns.

Bill has never been a great drafter. He rapes on trades and finding value in dollar bin FA's

In short he compensates for his deficiencies by supplementing his drafts with pieces that he maximizes by utilizing any and every skillset his players may possess.

We don't do anything close to that.

So on average 1 player we draft a year makes it on the team for a short period of time.

these 3 players are better than any defensive player the Saints have taken in the last 30 years

But Jones and Collins are gone.

Jordan is a phenomenal player on a shitty defense. He'd start anywhere. Hightower is a badass as well. Not going to excuse this front office, though. Too many terrible contracts and a lot of really bad draft picks. Loomis sucks.

as you wish

2012:
1st - Trent Richardson (traded for 2013 1st round pick)
1st - Brandon Weeden (cut)
2nd - Mitchell Schwartz (walked in FA)
3rd - John Hughes (cut)
4th - Travis Benjamin (walked in FA)
4th - James-Michael Johnson (cut)
5th - Ryan Miller (cut)
6th - Emmanuel Acho (cut)
6th - Billy Winn (traded to Indy)
7th - Trevin Wade (cut)
7th - Brad Smelley (cut)
UDFA: Tashaun Gipson (walked in FA)

2013:
1st - Barkevious Mingo (traded to NE for 5th)
2nd - Josh Gordon (year previous supplemental; suspended)
3rd - Leon McFadden (cut)
6th - Jamoris Slaughter (cut)
7th - Armonty Bryant (cut)
7th - Garrett Gilkey (cut)

2014:
1st - Justin Gilbert (cut)
1st - Johnny Manziel (cut)
2nd - Joel Bitonio (on team)
3rd - Christian Kirksey (on team)
3rd - Terrance West (traded to Tennessee, now with Baltimore)
4th - Pierre Desir (cut)
UDFA: Isaiah Crowell (on team)

So, players who actually made a name for themselves
0/5 1st round picks
3/3 2nd round picks *Josh Gordon was a 2nd round supplemental, good player but issues with suspensions*
2/4 3rd round picks
1/3 4th round picks
0/1 5th round picks
1/3 6th round picks
0/4 7th round picks
UDFA: 2 players

So of 25 players, 7 made a name for themselves or are still in the league in a major way. Of those 7, 3 remain on the team

lol we're bad like them

I don't agree with how you define a miss. Stork was the center of a team that won a championship, and was best out by a UDFA mostly because of concussion related issues.
