2 Possible 2015 CB Free Agents

Assuming the worst case of SJB not even producing, we definitely need someone half decent across from Lewis. White AND Bush were on Green all day and got beat bad. Bush took bad angles all game, reminding me of another safety we had and White just couldn't hang at all. Why not try PRob? I'm not even sure.
I was just looking at the list of CBs that will be free agents in 2015 and saw these two:
Tramon Williams
- An 8 year vet, he'll be coming off of a 4yr/33million dollar contract. Still putting up solid numbers, but after drafting Casey Hayward in the 2nd round in 2012, and giving Sam Shields a contract, will it be time to let Williams go? another note, williams played for LA Tech and is from Houma, LA. He will be 32 years old. Do we take a flyer and sign him for a 2-3yr contract and hope he gives us a hometown discount?
Ike Taylor
- A 12 year vet, but he's been injured for most of the year. He signed a 1yr/2.75mil contract this offseason with the Steelers. Another Louisiana native, born in New Orleans and played for LA-Laffy. He'll be 35 going into the season, but does he have maybe one year left? If so, do you think Lewis can convince him to come back home for vet minimum?

Didn't realize Williams had been in the league that long. Dude was pretty good at La Tech.

I think we should use every day
raft pick on CBs.

We need youth on the team as we prepare for life after Brees, not 30+ year olds on there last legs who were never great anyway.

Honestly, I looked at the FA list a few days ago and the cupboard is pretty bare... We are gonna have to settle for a below average guy and hope it works out/is covered up by our safeties & pass rush.

I think Brandon Flowers is on a one year deal!

Ike Taylor is garbage now.
So we'll probably sign him.

Tramon Williams could make sense and would be worth a shot for a decent price, but Ike Taylor's play has really gone down the last year or 2 and he'll be 35 so I don't think he'd really be an upgrade over what we have

Tramon Williams
Not from Houma.
The kid has earned EVERYTHING he's received as far as football is concerned.
Walked on at La Tech out of Assumption High, earned that.
Undrafted FA to the Texans, I believe, then to the Packers where he earned that contract.
Impressive kid.

Yea I remember watching him at Tech, he definitely stood out, even against good competition. Would be nice to get him.

Maxwell is not a good fit schematically for us. The Seahawks play almost exclusively Cover 3.
I'm not too sure about the Chargers scheme with Flowers. I know that they run disguised coverages a lot but I'm not sure if they play more man or zone following them. But I'm pretty sure SD will lock him up after this season anyways.

I'd be all for Tramon Williams.

I'm sure Ike is done, and he hasn't looked very good even when healthy. The one I wanted to go for was Tramon Williams. Still relatively young enough to be solid and hasn't shown much of a dropoff this year either.
I think he'll age well for the next couple of years...
Antonio Cromartie is a no, he just played himself into one last, big contract of his career.
Mike Jenkins might be a guy that you could take a flyer on, he is pretty average.
I assume we're not going to have much money to play with this year if Brees doesn't get a restructure/extension. Even after cutting Evans and Colston, we'd still be close to the projected cap. Thats with players like Haralson, PRob, and a few others hitting FA as well.
This isn't going to look very good..
