Trying this for the 1st time but I'd like to do a Peter King version but Saints related after each game this season. Can stir up discussion but without further ado:
1.) I think the Graham trade for Unger will play huge dividends sooner rather than later.

2.) I think "fans" need to realize we played a very stout defense yesterday and even without downfield shots Brees had viable time to throw.

3.) I think Payton needs to permanently hand over play calling duties to Carmichael.

4.) I think for a young defensive unit, playing in a hostile environment, for the opening game, played tough and gave us better than just a "chance" to win.

5.) I think Swann will be a fine nickel back.

6.) I think Hocker has ice in his veins. Those kicks were right down the middle and plenty of distance on a shitty field.

7.) I think the stars are aligning for some Saints help in the next few weeks (2-1 should be the record heading into SNF against DAL and they'll be without 2 top pass rushers and Dez Bryant.)

8.) I think Rob Ryan called a solid game yesterday but someone has to be the scapegoat.

9.) I think if there's a pass rusher to be had you go for it.

10.) I think Arizona will be the toughest defensive team/away game we'll play this season.

Thoughts good or bad are welcome but this team will be better than last years. The offense will find it's groove and this young D will continue to grow by leaps and bounds.

Can we please keep track of interceptions that are actually truly interceptions through the season?

I think the defense played very well all considered.

I think the inability of the offense to put the ball in the endzone is terrifying.

The only thing that concerned me about our inability to get into the endzone was we only took 1 real shot. And that was a jump ball for Cooks trying to go over PP. Coleman had to make a great play to break a tackle, stay Inbounds, and maintain his balance to get into the endzone. In watching the game, I was trying to figure out if we were afraid of their secondary, or didn't really trust our WRs.

Someone should keep track. The deep pass Browner dropped and Anthony's one for sure. The 1st one Browner missed I believe was just too quick for him to react.

Agree with all of this. I'm actually somewhat positive on this team other than no pass rush and our receiver talent just isn't there. I love the idea of Coleman a big guy but he can't make the catches. He's gotta catch those balls. Snead needs more targets.

I think Browner should have had both. We dropped probably 4 INTs yesterday.

Forgot about Cam's. We start holding onto those and the D will really take off.

I said this last night and I'll say it again today.

It scares the shite out of me that Sean Payton looked at their secondary, decided that they were hopelessly outmatched, and didn't even try to challenge them except for one wake-up call on the first play of the second half.

The Saints have always at least tried to impose their will on the defense. Payton looked on the other side and said "we're just not good enough."

That is a shocking paradigm shift at this point in Payton's career.

AGREED

3.) I think Payton needs to permanently hand over play calling duties to Carmichael.

Carmichael was the playcaller yesterday. Maybe Payton needs to take it back over.

4.) I think for a young defensive unit, playing in a hostile environment, for the opening game, played tough and gave us better than just a "chance" to win.

5.) I think Swann will be a fine nickel back.

AGREED and eventually a solid #2

AGREED but I think that I will place our issues on coaching more than talent in this area

10.) I think Arizona will be the toughest defensive team/away game we'll play this season.

We ran numerous deep routes that resulted in dump offs

I'm hoping we get the season ticket holder game rewind accounts soon so we can see the coaching tape

I'm actually not all that worried about the defense. We looked pretty stout yesterday all things considered. Brees not having enough weapons worries me. I think the playcalling was a symptom of not having a deep threat.
