I wouldn't call TM7 a guy with bad character.
The dude absolutely was a firecracker in the lockerroom.

The weed thing just needs to be dealt with.

TM7 needs to get out of Louisiana. He obviously has bad influences here and needs to go somewhere like Buffalo or Kansas City or New England where he can't get in trouble.

He can be successful in the right environment. It kind of reminds me of Jamarcus. As soon as Oakland signed him, I knew he had no chance. Same for TM7. A team like Oakland or Carolina will just get him in trouble.

Sure, just offer him up to Saban once he takes a new gig in 10 days or so. Former players help with installing "the process".

I would really like us select Matt Elam of FLA. every time I watch Florida play the kid is all over the field. Can cover, intercept, and tackle with authority. Really is a playmaker and has what it takes to pump up the D.

kinda on this playmaker train idea. The beauty of football to me is that it is one of the best "team" sports. That is, the coordination and performance of each player contributes to the outcome. Not like beisbol where you can plug 'n play any old slugger into a cleanup spot. In roundball get just a couple of dominant athletes and you can win big.

That said, it is painfully evident that the missing piece here is pass rush. All the DBs get some degree of flak but it's hard to judge the youngsters when asked to do so much so soon. Imagine Corey White covering players from Elon and Furman one year. The next he is forced into starting across from Roddy White or Jordy Nelson. Pass rush will make them all look better. Better coverage will create more situational pressure for rushers but not nearly as much as the other way around. Any DB, even elite, can only be asked to cover for so many seconds.

If we're keeping Spags and you want a play maker, I say they should go for Margus Hunt. JPP type of freak athlete. Of course, there are some other good DE's out there as well, but this guy Hunt could be a pure beast.

As far as TM, if he was available in the 6th round or later (which he won't) then sure go for a guy that will mainly play on ST's and could be put in some nickle packages. He's not a great cover but he is a ball hawk and is explosive.

But NOLA is the WORST place possible for that kid.

Don't understand why people keep saying Nola is the worst place for him. He has a support structure down here. If he goes anywhere else he will have the same problems but will be left to deal with it all by himself.

Thank you. I'm def not opposed to taking a S or CB this draft, hell I hope we take both, but if we take anything but the best pass rusher on the board with our first pick I'll be very highly disappointed

You might get prepared then.

No Bushrod re-signed or UFA signed and LT elevates as an even greater need

I can envision Mingo, Montgomergy, & Ansah on the board and another position player grading higher BPA to take.

Hoping like you but could see it

Even better...

let's get the pass rusher before the draft. Older types like Freeney or Osi could be stopgap or my favorite would be Michael Johnson if they can afford him.

Then you're really free for BPA.

Our starting safeties (Harper/Jenkins) rarely get INTs and that is a HUGE problem IMO. Jenkins at FS is terrible at creating TOs.

I just feel like this draft sets up very well for us to get one of those top flight guys that could be playmakers for a long time for us.

He had a support structure at LSU too. Still didn't work for the young man. Also consider that only two of his positive tests were made public. No telling how many he failed that we didn't hear about. He reminds me way too much of Ricky Williams.
