Pure hypothetical of course. But let's imagine you get naked GM of the Pels tomorrow. But the catch is that if you don't make the playoffs next year, you will die
What is your course of action. Keep it realistic. Give a plan A, B, and C if possible. Only rule is that you can't trade AD. Go!

If this is just about making the playoffs, then a healthy QPon and Tyreke along with Gordon and Anderson back would be a playoff team imo.

Maybe from a pure talent perspective but not a fit or intangibles perspective
Again, look at what Portland did last year (not in FA, but during the season). A team could easily be better than the sum of their parts of everyone buys into their role and is hungry. You ain't gonna get Ryno, EG, Tyreke to buy into lesser roles for the good of the team. Those days are gone.

If I have to make the playoffs first thing I'm doing is making sure I do not have to rely on guys like Frazier and Buddy. Whether QPon comes back healthy, and if he can even return to his 14-15 level, is a concern as well.
I'd look at a guy like Courtney Lee, for starters. A guy I know will be smart for me. Someone like Gerald Henderson as a backup option. Guys I know can come in and raise basketball IQ and give me adequate defense, and hopefully Buddy can fill in the left over minutes and be an assassin. Depending on who you sign at the 2, maybe a wish is that guy could slide over and give you some minutes at the 3 as well.
At PG I look for one of two things. A guy I can rely on to run an offense and play smart basketball. I think the options are plentiful. Or a guy who can play that combo guard with Jrue for a little bit.
At the two big spots, AD, Asik, and Ajinca. Hope Asik comes to camp healthy and ready to go. Maybe you could entice Ryno to take something like 16M a season.

Dump Reke and Ajinca
Sign Dudley. Absorb Koufos and Meeks into cap space as their teams look to dump them.

Koufos/Asik

Meeks is awful and has been injured several years now. Dudely isn't as effective as a 3 anymore he can't defend that position any more. He's better as a small ball 4 but playing him there he will not rebound or handle the stronger guys. Fraizer and Drew are not conpentent back ups they are 3 rd string pgs so please tell me how those guys help?

Of course it does, because it factors in roles and intangibles, not just what looks best on paper
On paper, we all had Portland as a 20-25 win team last year, but their roles were clearly defined and accepted. That will beat out slightly better talent with no roles defined or accepted every time
