Would you guys like Jarell Martin?

Not just because hes LSU, but would you guys take him if available in the draft this coming year as the 3 man?? He definitely has a ton of upside..

If he has a ton of upside, he won't be available for us to pick with the 30th pick of the first round.

He's really not even that good
Unless he takes a huge step up this year I really don't see him getting drafted, or at least no where near the 1st round

He showed flashes of what he can offer last season. I think the transfer from high school to college was a little tough for him, i believe he will be much better and improved this year...

I think he will be good. Maybe even great college player. But his lack of speed and quickness makes it tough for him at 3 in NBA and doesn't have greatest size for 4. Kind of tweener imo.

The kid isn't good enough to play in Europe yet. If he wanted to play professional, he'd be in Australia or China or South America.
He's got a lot of upside he'd need to tap into to make it to the nba. He's not athletic enough, and i don't see Paul Pierce/Danny Granger/Joe Johnson in him, which is what his upside could be if he were really good with his skill sets.

I was happy to get Martin and I think he will be a really good player for LSU. But wouldn't the Pelicans be better served with Jordan Mickey if we got an LSU player?

FWIW he is listed in the first round in both ESPN and Draft Express mock drafts. If he shows any improvement at all, he's gone. Draft Express is as good as it gets.

He won't be available this year. His performance last year didn't show that he was prepared for the NBA. He would have to make a big leap this year.
