At the risk of being too sunshine pumpy, I LOVE the coaching duo we ended up with! I think we hit an absolute home run with Gentry and Erman.

This literally is Dell's first opportunity to fully act as GM. About time. He knows it's all on him now. I'm optimistic.

After he joined the staff in Golden State their defense went from 26th to 13th to 3rd. This is the kind of hire that needed to be paired with Gentry. I'm already pumped for next season.

Top 5 offense/Top 12 defense?

Interesting that Erman became known as a great assistant over a one year period. IIRC one of the reasons Jackson was fired in GS was because Lacob told him to go out and hire good assistants and he didn't? Wouldn't Erman be one of the assistants that upper management wasn't impressed with?

Jackson repeatedly clashed with managment over everything.

Erman is the reason that defense went from 26th to 13th then to 3rd.

Doc also IMMEDIATELY wanted him on his staff.

He's a HUGE leap from ayers

Zach Lowe ?@ZachLowe_NBA 13m13 minutes ago Darren Erman got fired for secretly recording Mark Jackson, and teams are fighting over him. Think about that.

I'll take it as he likes the hiring. Damn, I can't wait for November to get here! If/when AD signs his extension next month, this offseason will be a great success.

With this hiring I hope some of the chicken littles can stop blowing their tops. This will turn out to be a really solid staff. By this time next year we will wonder how we ever made it through the Monty/ayers years.

Lacob on Jackson Firing:

"You can't have a staff underneath you that isn't that good," Lacob said. "And if you're going to get better, you've got to have really good assistants. You've got to have people that can be there to replace you. We all know this from all of our companies. It's . . . Management 101. A lot of people on the outside couldn't understand it when we (fired Jackson)."

"Carte blanche. Take my wallet. Do whatever it is to get the best assistants there are in the world. Period. End of story. Don't want to hear it. And (Jackson's) answer . . . was, 'Well, I have the best staff.' No you don't. And so with Steve, very, very different."

Fair point to bring up imo.
