Will there be a public vote of sorts on the naming options?

I think this will tie the community fan base a little bit as well. Maybe it doesn't have to be the deciding factor, maybe they don't have to full disclose the results, but at least listen to the people spirits of their opinions.

All the votes would be write-ins. I'd still vote for the New Orleans Thundercats, but we'd probably end up being the Admiral Ackbars.

I'm guessing no if Benson wants this in time for the coming season. They probably have to get this approved in the next month or so to make it happen.

100% chance that we are still the Hornets next season. Stuff like this takes time. Like a year or two. As far as a public vote...if Benson must re-brand, I think the season ticket holders deserve a voice.
ETA: IMO, when Benson said at the presser that he wants to get a new name, he had no idea of the process or timeline. I think he just got a little excited.

I wouldn't mind the New Orleans Admirals with Admiral Akbar as our mascot. That would be pretty funny.

IDGAF what your opinion is either. Unless you can improve upon the Hornets, then why change. Can you honestly say you want the basketball team to be called the New Orleans:
Spirit
Brass
Angels
Alligators
Pelicans
Krewe
etc., etc., etc.

I would also love to get the Jazz back as well
Maybe Benson can offer to have Saints training camp in Salt Lake City for say 5 years or so if they trade names with us, including a preseason game each year.
