It starts with ownership. We have an owner who is barely coherent enough to be responsible for the finances of his businesses including the New Orleans Pelicans. I didn't mention the Saints because Benson actually does have a passion for football and is clearly seen supporting that franchise week after week.
When I watch Benson at Pelicans games it's almost cringe-worthy. AD will hit a shot to seal the game and his facial expression doesn't change a bit. Benson is a business man, not a fan of basketball. He's still profiting by being the owner of the Pelicans but he will never be willing to risk more money-pay luxury taxes, etc to get this team to contend. It won't happen.

I know, but some are big sports fans, others aren't. Benson loves football and there is no argument against that, but when it comes to haketball, it's a different story.

Benson isn't showing emotion because he doesn't care about basketball, he isn't showing emotion because he barely knows where he is anymore.
That is the real issue here. And it is pretty sad to see. The organization has no accountability at the top because the guy at the top is no longer mentally capable of holding people accountable anymore. The guy is about to be 90 years old. And any interview over the past year could confirm
this decline. His umbrella twirling days are long gone.

Demps is going to be here for a while. The Cousins trade saved his job for more than just this year. I know a lot of people are worried about how tough the West is, but if they can add someone like Lin and CJ Miles then this team has the kind of depth that helps you win more than expected in the 82 game regular season grind.

Because about once or twice a month Jen Hale would try and conduct the most soft ball interviews with Benson during games and it was tough to watch him try and get through it. Answers that were often incoherent and often came off like he didn't even quite get what was going on. Struggling to put sentences together. She would often shift focus for Gayle to step in and finish up the interviews when things got bad.
