Don't get your panties in a wad over this discussion. I'm not suggesting it. I'm merely just pondering what assets we could receive realistically. Could it fetch a draymond + klay thompson deal?

Just imaging our team future with : Jrue/Reke/Ryno (assuming we pay him big money) plus whatever FA we can afford and then whatever assets that can be gained with AD.

If another GM is trading for him? Prob Karl Anthony towns/lavine and t wolves first. If Demps is trading him he could fetch us a late first and some cash.

He would garner huge assets on the open market, but its not really worth discussing. It wouldn't be enough to make up for what we lose.

It would be young players + picks or established stars that need a change (Blake, etc).

Not quite sure since he is probably the most coveted player in the NBA given how much upside, age, potential etc...so not sure how much you could get in return?

mm....the Minnie trade listed above would be quite close to what it would take, but using bigger names lets say we trade with Portland. It would take Lillard, 1st round pick, Mason Plumlee?

CJ McCollum would have to be included WITH lillard. What if the sixers offered pick 1, their next years first round pick and okafor?

No way we get Thompson/draymond for him. We would have to give up something else in addition

Maybe a 3 way where we got porzingis and some firsts, idk. We won't have to worry about this though for a few more seasons but it's impossible to not think about it given what is now happening.

That's one of the only teams I do not think would be in the bidding. I don't think they would give up Towns and assets for Davis. I sure wouldn't. He very well may have the most trade value in the entire league. His rookie year is as good as Davis.

I don't think the warriors would break up their team to get Davis either. They have such synergy and are pushing for best regular season ever. I don't see them breaking that up for anything. Plus they may get KD to replace BArnes which is crazy.

Celtics would give us a lot...Brooklyns picks, Dallas pick, Boston pick and Crowder + prospects. Most other teams would offer massive packages.

It's actually a good hypothetical question IMO.

Porzingis and picks ,maybe Jabari Parker and picks? A deal with Orlando for olidipo, Aaron Gordon and Nikola vucevic or something. I hate thinking about it but this franchise has given me no other choice BUT to think about it.

Would you do it for Russell, KD, and Ibaka PLUS they commit long term? Just wondering.

You trade AD, than just relocate the god damn team. Im not just going to sit by and continue to watch this team be a farm system to the top tier teams. Whats the point of even having susperstars if they will be traded or sign with a new team.

Why would the wolves get rid of towns? Yall crazy. Towns has just as much potential as Davis has. That would be a lateral move for them. Towns is on rookie deal and is guaranteed to stay for 7 years and will grow with Wiggins. No way the wolves would even consider it.

They wouldn't. We can't get Towns.

Yap

You're in a dream land if you think you could get KAT or Porzingis. Why would they trade controllable, cheap franchise players? They will build around those guys in the same way the Pels didn't with AD

Like I said you're looking at a package of young players that could become stars + lottery picks

or

Blake Griffin type

Much better discussion than anticipated thus far. I'm not for trading AD but at the same time, you have to wonder if such a huge move can set this franchise up for the better. Not saying all trades could but i see trades that sure make me want to ho hummm about it.

I've wondered what he'd fetch, just out of curiosity. But, yeah, if you trade AD just mo e the franchise. It's not happening, thank God.

It wouldn't. This isn't football.

Stars matter HUGE in the NBA. Once you have one you don't trade him unless you have no other choice. Let's have this discussion in 3-4 years.
