Hopefully we can get a top 5 pick and snag Ball, Jackson, or Monk

What are your draft prospects that y'all want most?

He is gonna bust in the NBA anyway. Dude ceiling is Lou Williams. Still don't understand why people want him. Issac is fools gold as well. News flash people, not every 6'9 and up SF is gonna be the next Kevin Durant. Issac body has tweener written all over it and he will be converted to a PF in the NBA due to him not being quick enough as a SF.

The best prospects imo are the three pgs and Josh Jackson. That's all I would be trying to target from this draft. I also think BAM Abyao (Kentucky kid) may translate well to the leauge and be a rich man's Quincy acy

our next 3 games, on the road, Minny/Sac/Suns.
If we are tanking, need to lose all three. We can beat Memphis and Houston, and then lose to Dallas and OKC to round out this month finishing 2-5.
i'd rather finish 2-5 that way, then finish 3-4 beating 3 from the Minny/Sac/Suns/Dallas. those are the teams we need to lose to if we are going to tank.

Unfortunately, I don't see us tanking enough to get anything better than the 5th worst record. We aren't going to do anything to be worst than the Nets and Lakers for sure, and likely can't get worst than Sixers and Suns. It's going to be hard to hold off the Wolves, Magic and Sac as well.

Probably so. Sounds like we aren't trading Jrue, so it will be hard to tank if Jrue and AD are healthy.

It would be nice if we traded Jrue for a first round pick, as well as others for another late first or early second, and then AD broke his left hand dunking on someone and is out for the rest of the season. Buddy and Diallo are forced to play more and be more integral to the team. Buddy finishes off the year averaging 14 points a game on 40% shooting from 3 and Diallo averages 12/9 and both look like they are picking up the game well.

The NBA Gods do not reward tanking.

The good news is that we are tanking, but we are trying not to tank. That is exactly what we want. Play hard, still lose and then get rewarded. Ex A - Anthony Davis.

With AD and Jrue, this is not really possible.

No it's not. Because they are playing close to .500 ball with those two. If that continues, you are looking at 10-12th. That's not tanking

The only hope is like you've been saying, come out of the next week far enough back in the standings that they decide to become sellers. Get rid of enough depth and maybe you can slip into the 6-8 range while picking up assets.

I only watched it in parts, but that Utah game must have been kind of demoralizing. Utah is "only" a middle tier playoff team and they made beating the Pels look easy.

Even with Jrue we are 5-12 on the road. We have 17 road games and 12 home games left. We are going to be bad even if neither misses any more time.

The Nets made beating us look easy.

We also have had the 7th easiest schedule thus far, and have the 7th hardest going forward.

the easiest schedules the rest of the way are as follows:
Orlando
Brooklyn
Phoenix
Lakers
Portland
Miami
Dallas
with Philly and Sac also falling in at 9th and 12th respectively.
Those are literally all of the teams we are fighting with outside of Minny, who has the 2nd hardest schedule going forward.

I think it's imperative we lose the next 3 games if we are going to truly tank and get rid of people before the trade deadline.

And if you win 11 or 12 more games, based on that projection, you aren't sniffing a top 5 pick

Looking at the teams, I think you have to win 27 or less this year for a bottom five record. You aren't doing that if AD/Jrue play the rest of the year

I agree with you so is there chance they trade Jrue or tell him and AD to fake an injury and take the rest of the year off after the all star break

I think once they are eliminated from the playoffs you could maybe convince AD to shut it down, but Holiday is in a contract year. How much money do you have to promise him and his agent for him to shut it down?

Like I said, AD needs to break his left hand, or finger. Something that isn't serious at all, but would make him have to sit out the rest of the season. If both he and jrue play for the most part rest of the season, they are going to finish with probably 31-34 wins, which will likely put them picking around 9th or worse.
We are not going to get into the top 4, unless we win the lottery. finishing with the 5th worst record is the best we could probably do tanking. Brooklyn and LAL are going to be the worst 2. phoenix and Philly will be hard to get behind.
