Simmons and Ingram are off the board. Who do you take?

I would take Kris Dunn.

Trade Back or see if you can get a guy like Butler/George with the #3.

Trade back with Phoenix to 5, there still would probably be 2 of Hield/Dunn/Murray on the board, and you picked up #13 in the process, maybe #28 too. Phoenix is set at guard so unless they want Jaylen Brown, they jump up to 3 and get Bender.

That would make me very happy

If we stayed put, Murray or Brown. Id be tempted to take Jaylen Brown, I know he needs a lot of work but he could hit and you'd have the wing we've needed for 10+ ueard.

There are probably 20 guys I would take over him. I just really don't like him.

I'd be really surprised if Phoenix jumped up to take a guy that would likely be there at 5 for them, giving the 13th pick in the process. Nor do I have particular faith in Demps to pull this off at all.

I'm taking the better of Hield/Dunn (I'd go Dunn but wouldn't flip out at Hield) at 3 or going with your plan B if it's feasible. I'd dump more future picks than just 3 to land Butler. I know it's counter productive and has failed us in the past, but Davis/Butler/Jrue is a filthy trio.

Bender is interesting because very hard to tell where he will end up, will be easier to guess once the lottery is over and the order of teams if finalized. If we can trade back and still get a brown or Hield at 6-7 plus another first, a future first, or a young piece I would have to say trading back would be the best option if it's a 2 for 1, meaning we can get 2 pieces for our 3rd pick.

Once Ingram and Simmons are off the board though at 1-2 it's just hard to imagine a team trading to acquire the 3rd pick. Again, all depends on the results of the lottery with teams 4-8 if we are at #3. Will be interesting.

If we could trade it away, I wouldn't care.
in this draft 3 doesn't seem that much better than 7.
Hell there's guy's you can get in the teens that i feel better about than some of the top 10 guys.

I'm all in for Hield though. If there is a way to get Hayward or George, i'd give up just about anything, obviously not AD.

We'll see how things unfold over the next few weeks once these guys start working out and interviewing, but everything I've seen so far suggests Bender is slightly above the 2nd tier guys like Murray/Hield/Dunn. He's also often attached to Boston who in the best case scenario is sitting at 4 ahead of Phoenix so we can play them off each other. At the very least Bender seems to be in a different tier than the other top 10 bigs, so like I said, unless they want Brown, trading up for Bender is the alternative to an ok big and a pick that has a higher chance of being a D or worse player than a C or better player. Due to the huge drop off after #2, what would be the incentive for a team to want to jump to #3 and give up picks?

We're still early in the process but Bender seems to have some separation from the rest of the 2nd tier. He certainly is separated from the other bigs. If you're Phoenix and already have Bledsoe/Knight/Booker, why would you draft a guard? So the choice then becomes Brown if you like him, or one of the other bigs who are a talent tier below Bender, or at least at the back end of a talent tier he's at the front of. In the NBA larger denominations are usually more desirable, so if you can turn 2 dimes and a nickel into a quarter you do it. If they like Brown or don't like Bender they wouldn't do it. If they like Bender they'd probably consider it. If Boston and Phoenix are 4/5 both with at least some interest in Bender you have to call both and see what you can make happen.

I mean, I'd take it. Just would rather have Dunn because he's been in college 4 years and IMO would be more ready to contribute ASAP and that's what we need.

Just got #1 to the Pels

With the Suns picking second, Philly picking third AND fourth, and Boston picking fifth. Talk about an interesting top 5 that would be

I see that the Hield bandwagon's lost some people.

More room for me when he and AD are taking us to the promised land
