I have always loved Davis. Compared that dude to a KG / Dwight hybrid when everyone else was saying Marcus Camby. Also said only Lebron would be taken before him in a redraft of the league, including KD. Said that before last year when most of you wouldn't go that far.

I love his game. I won't let a few tards here trying to build up a rivalry get in the way of that (a lot of yall are good people...several are dicks).

You have to realize that 99% of it is directed towards one person. The other 1% comes from familiarity. I have to imagine Houston hires more LSU grads than any other city outside of maybe BR and Nola. As such, this fine message board has quite a few Rockets fans, one of whom is an obnoxious tool (bless his little heart). You and Primetime are the two most vocal Rockets fans that anyone wants to interact with. As such, you basically end up catching a lot of collateral damage from Little Heart.

Honestly, I really do believe Davis is better than both, but both are better than our #2 at this point. I just don't like either of them. Dwight seems like the phoniest player in all of pro sports (A-Rod is there with him). With Harden, it bothers me that he and Gordon are such similar players, but refs refuse to blow the whistle when Gordon attacks defenders the same way Harden does. It's frustrating and it makes me bitter. Being a division rival is an added benefit to disliking him, too.

I'm thinking 114 rebounds in a single game would set some kind of record.

well, it would be a miserable offensive display by both teams if one guy got 114 boards and if he got 114 boards but only 18 points, chances are very few would be offensive so I would guess that USA would have like 60 turnovers and Slovenia would've had to shoot 3%.

After getting taken to the woodshed Goran Dragic says the conventional wisdom that a Team USA missing it's biggest stars is vulnerable is wrong.

quote:

"Their energy is unbelievable," Dragic told ESPN.com just outside Slovenia's locker room, having managed a mere six points in 21 minutes Tuesday night against the swarms of NBA peers that never left him alone in Team USA's 101-71 exhibition rout.

"It's hard. Especially on the pick-and-roll tonight, I didn't see any solutions."

..."The NBA can offer so many good players, even if those other guys didn't come, USA still has a good chance to win a gold medal," Dragic said.

"It's them and Spain. But the way they play so aggressively, they can pressure the whole court. They can beat anyone."

...As long as the Davis-led defense can continue to dictate tempo and force turnovers like it has in its warmup games, there's no reason Team USA can't win its fourth major tournament in a row.

...Countered Dragic: "You can see the coach is subbing them all after four minutes so they always play on a high level. It was crazy. It felt like three or four guys on me the whole time.

"I can beat one or two guys, but then they're so athletic, it's really tough to [get] open. Or even if you find [another] open guy, their rotations are so fast. It's tough."

It sounds like Monty and AD are getting some pretty invaluable experience from being on Team USA. Hopefully it will pay off for the Pelicans.

Nate Duncan gushing over Davis. He's a guy to follow because he will live Tweet the games

That site won't let me copy/paste on phone. Check it out though. Some video of Davis. Notice where he is positioned on PnR.
