New Orleans, for all its charm, is a small market that receives little media attention during the regular-season months and where Davis, for the most part, is allowed to clock in and clock out as he pleases. To wit: The local newspaper, the Times-Picayune, did not send any reporters on the road after the All-Star break, even with the Pelicans in the midst of a playoff race.

the Times-Pic and their writers Duncan and Smith are absolute clowns.

That newspaper is struggling mightily anyway (as are papers across the country), so not sure that means a whole lot.

This is why the Pels have already won by just being in the playoffs. Way more exposer, experience for the team and Davis exp, and fan base.

I would say though taking one game at home would be a great boost as well

I am not a fan of Williams but it looks like he'll be here for a while. It might be in his best interest to surround himself with the best assistants money can buy. Like Davis, he has what it takes to make the next step to success...he just needs a little guidance.

It is true that newspapers are struggling, and it's a bit of a dying industry, but the Times-Pic is still a SAD excuse for a newspaper. It's got to be one of the worst city newspapers in all of the country. It's embarrassing that NOLA doesn't have a worthwhile newspaper to represent it and cover its sports teams.

The TP was a solid paper until Newhouse, Jr. decided to hamfistedly cut corners.

By the way, the Advocate is a New Orleans newspaper that publishes daily and is locally owned. It's also taking advertising dollars from the TP.
