Up to 24 teams could have max space. Trade market?

Not every team is going to be able to sign max players, and money is going be thrown around like crazy.

We've all discussed this within the context of Free Agency and crazy contracts.

Given that there is a salary floor, one has to speculate that the trade market for contracts that teams normally wouldn't take on will be substantial.

Could this possibly help us dump contracts or make trades we couldn't possibly expect?

Tyreke- sure. Asik, no

You could basically take Tyreke as a salary holder for a year and then take your shot again in 2017. There is no benefit to taking on salary for 3 years

I would give Tyreke a decent shot to be taken in late July, but I just don't think we can move him in late June for draft pieces because all 24 teams will still have hope they can do better

Of course the other question is "to what end would be giving Tyreke away?"

It would have to be for a corresponding salary move (FA signing or other trade), and I don't particularly like this FA period.

I'd like to just move on from Reke but it needs to make sense, especially considering he expires anyway.

Giving away Tyreke doesn't only open up salary, it opens up minutes and that is more valuable

Why give 2500 minutes to a guy who has no future with your team and who your coach doesn't like?

We keep talking about getting hungry guys. Well, if you want them to prove themselves, you gotta give them minutes. I would give Tyreke away for a ham sandwich, even if no big FA was coming

I think its funny the reason people think Tyreke is the problem is because of his play style. You guys let these writers influence your opinions on a player. Tyreke does have problems on the team but his play has nothing to do with it.

We also have to see who we draft. I think drafting Dunn means you move Tyreke sooner than later. If we could get a lottery protected future 1st I'd be pretty happy. More likely we'd get somebody else's version of Ajinca and Babbitt.

Man, your opinion just kind of sucks about everything.

We've all watched Tyreke play. Some of us understand basketball. He absolutely sucks for our style of play. He has a low BBIQ and just doesn't play team ball. Honestly, I can't stand watching him on this team.

None of our opinions matter. You know whose does? Gentry's. Get some truth serum, bump into him, wait five minutes for it to kick him and then ask him about Tyreke

Hit us back and let us know what he says :)

That could be eye-opening. Based on his antics on the sidelines when Evans kept pounding the ball, I am sure he would have some interesting things to say.

How many games did Tyreke play last season for you to come up with that opinion. Its because he played too slow right. It was explained he had a bad knee which is why he wasn't playing fast. Did you have the same opinion when we were winning with him. Or was it his fault that the team only won 35 games.

He's played for us for more than one year. You might be aware of that.

The guy drives me insane. I hate his attitude, I hate his style of play.

To be fair, I had a meltdown on here when we traded for him, so I was never a fan.

My "guess" would be that Tyreke would be thought of as one of the lowest IQ players out coaching staff ever encountered

You know who else talks to Gentry a lot- Amin Elhassin. Listen to anything he says about Tyreke and basically assume it is coming from Alvin

You have to understand that 504 is to Tyreke when it comes to Pelicans players as he is to Luwawu when it comes to draft prospects.

No surprise there I guess. It is pretty apparent and what I and many others on here have always said about him. It was one of the reasons I was so ticked off when we signed him.

Amin is a clown he basicly trying to portray his self as a Skip now

No Reke on this team then this team never makes the playoffs and I bet you guys would rather that.

Even if his BBIQ wasn't an issue, his natural style of play is. This team doesn't go after offensive rebounds anymore. They dropped from 4th to 24th in OReb%. That means fewer Kobe assists for Tyreke. So that one defensive scheme change automatically devalues Tyreke's value to the offense. Throw in the public disagreement between Tyreke and Gentry on pass first, and he just isn't a fit.
