AD only gets 12 attempts

Tyreke 5/18 - 15 points
Jrue 5/18 - 13 points
Anderson 7/18 - 18 points

AD goes 8/12 but the team completely avoids him during crunch time.

That's alarming. Davis really needs to start demanding the ball more. He's too damn passive.

One word: infuriating

Second word: nonsensical

Well Matt Bonner was the greatest defender in the NBA last night. He hugged AD the whole game to make sure he didn't get involved. I guess Monty next project is to find ways to get AD looks.

Yeah, San Antonio's defense was fouling and doubling AD all night, and before you say "AD can pass to an open teammate if he's doubled" he had some awkward bad pass turnovers trying to do that, probably due in part to the fact that the Spurs were being allowed to foul him so much.

I hear you guys bitch about this all season, and hopefully a better coach can figure something else out, but under this coach I don't want them forcing stuff to AD for the sake of making an arbitrary shot quota. Obviously I'm not condoning Tyreke Heroball at the expense of AD, but outside of Reke nobody else is often in a position where they are stealing shots from AD.

0-6 from the 3 point range, TYREKE logic: so let's not pass the ball at all for the last possession, I should just hold and it take a 3pt shot, I'm on fire there. Why should I pass it to the league's best player?

Trade Tyreke to the Harlem Globetrotters.

Part of Davis's insane efficiency is that he is just asked to catch (pass, OREB) and finish. Toss him the ball and let him go to work, especially in this offense, and things likely change. Much of this offenses success is very low TO rate. And I feel a large part of that is how they use Davis and Anderson and a lack of passing.

Would love to see them look for transition buckets more (of course you need stops for that). But really would like to see them look to use Davis like PHX Amare in the half court

I'm right with you. I don't want them to force the ball to AD either. I love watching Tyreke close his eyes and charge the basket like an ADD buffalo. I love watching Anderson shoot step back 27 foot jumpers. Please, let's not force the ball inside when we have other, more efficient scoring options

i didn't get to watch the second half, but the first half officiating was about as lopsided as it gets.

and i'm certainly not blaming that for the loss. in fact, i think it's impressive the team fought back and should have won that game on the road in spite of the officiating. i just wish we got that kind of help at home, but we don't get it there either.

I'm stealing this from ShamelessPel from another thread because it ties into this s topic well

I don't like this "mug grab smother" AD trend we've seen lately. You can bet it will continue Friday with Jsmoove and McHale. We have to find a way to counter it. I'd have Cunningham just play the exact same way on the guy on AD on the other end of the floor. Dare the refs to call a 2 way game + show AD you got his damn back. Probably get under the other guy's skin. But I'm actually less pissed about the touches until we figure something out. Getting him the ball has been an absolute chore lately and actually bogs the offense down. Regardless the solution is not "ignore it and hope the refs start calling fouls". Of that I'm certain.

Ajinca would also be happy to go out there and foul out before the first quarter ends

I'm glad to see this. Team plays well when the ball is spread around. Too bad Asik blew it last night though
