Magic? His only magic has been unearthing random role players.

Not random. What is the common thread with all of these guys?

Jason Smith
Belinelli
Vazquez
RoLo
Ajinca
Norris Cole
Quincy Pondexter 2.0

All have talent (former mid-late 1st rounders).
All were motivated, many with one or both feet out of the league.
All were in bad situations, either asked to do too much, stuck behind a logjam at the position, or had fallen out of the rotation due to injury they were now recovered from.
All fit a HUGE hole on our team guaranteeing them minutes to hone their 1st round talent.

You can probably even throw Ariza onto that list.

I don't want to go anti-Demps like you, but what he's been best at could probably be replaced with a computer algorithm.

We won't do anything. We always hype ourselves up before the trade deadline and we never do anything. Same shite different year unfortunately.

Cole disagrees with doing nothing last year.

And they may not have a choice but to do deals.

There's a good chance guys will be gone by the end of the month.

There are also lots of reports that there will be way more buyers this year than in past years, and there are some playoff teams that actually have multiple first round picks.

What? Anderson is far and away Dell's best move. He usually gives up way more for restricted free agents.

Bingo. The more I look, the more I keep finding this for myself.
Even guys that are hurt like Rondae Hollis-Jefferson for the Nets.
Young guys with any talent, and reasonable contracts that run through the cap increases are going NOWHERE.

We are going from $70mm Cap, to $90mm in 2016-17. Then to possibly $110mm for 2017-18. What will it be by 2019-20 when Jae is in his final year making $8mm?

Crowder's salary right now is roughly 8.5% of his teams cap. If we get to JUST $120mm cap by 2019-20, his $8mm would be just 6.5% of the teams cap. That is roughly the same percentage as an AVERAGE player takes up now. Average salary is $4.5mm of a $70mm Cap... 6.42%

His cap-hold is trending to league average, while is performance is trending to FAR ABOVE-average. Currently the 15th PER rated SF in the league. Going nowhere.
