I'm not sure if I can take it anymore. It's really starting to piss me off. All these bandwagon frickers in this city replying the teams they have supposedly been fans of since they were born.

Ok.....back to trying to enjoy my Friday night.

How is it not possible? New Orleans didn't even have a basketball team when I was growing up.

Of course I cheer for my Pelicans, but who was I supposed to cheer for then?

It'll be okay. I'm sure they'll all jump on the Pelwagon after we win our first ship next year.

I know a guy who works with me and he is the biggest bandwagon fan I ever seen! His favorite teams are as follows:

NFL: Steerlers
MLB: Yankees
NBA: Lakers
CFB: Gumps
CBB: Duke
CBaseball: LSU

Those type of people piss me off. Most of the teams I liked growing up were the rivals of those big bandwagon teams. Haha

UNC basketball (Duke)
Braves and Red Sox (Yankees)
Florida State in football (lot of my friends liked ND, and the Warrick Dunn connection helped)
Whoever was playing the Bulls in the finals (though I was a Stockton/Malone fan too)

Now only non-local teams I pull for are UNC basketball (still, but would pull for LSU over them if they played) and Braves (went to first game in '91 when I was 9, and that happened to be the first year they started their '90's run; and it's not like we have a local team).

And if someone grew up liking a team, that's cool with me. But bandwagoners and people who actively pull against their local teams piss me off.

That or ditch max contracts and let LBJ make ~$40m, Durant ~$30m, etc...

I have been a Mariners fan since 95. If New Orleans got a MLB team, I wouldn't suddenly pull for them over Seattle.

after about 10 years and becoming a big fan of your home team would you pull for the mariners over your home team?

Tough question.. I've been a Reds fan since the Big Red Machine days( I know, I'm old).

I was a Sixers fan growing up too, but now I pull for the Pels, so there, maybe I did answer your question.

ETA. But I wasn't a die hard Sixer fan, so maybe not.

I have never been able to be that invested in a non Louisiana team. it's why I can't watch baseball or hockey. I wish I could find teams in those sports to where I would get enjoyment out of rooting for them and become invested but for some reason I can't do it. when the icegators first came to Lafayette though I became the biggest echl fan there was. for me it's all about location

Yeah, I didn't like the Braves, the Astros, or the Rangers. To me, I didn't have a team. I just found a player and team I liked, and I cheered for them. My favorite player? Barry Larkin.

I wanted to be Pete Rose when I was a kid. It's a travesty he's not in the Hall Of Fame. They're gonna wait for him to die before the make him eligible.

Don't get me started. The dude belongs in the HOF. I know that is probably the most unpopular sports opinion ever, but I don't care.

If I suffered through them not going to the playoffs since 01 and stayed loyal, nothing is going to make me abandon them.
