Obviously AD is a supreme talent.

Jrue's being away hurts but he does need to do what's best for his family.

Tyreke isn't healthy and I honestly don't think his style of play will ever allow any team he plays major minutes on to be a true contender.

We let Ryno & Gordon walk, which I understand but have tried to replace them with Solomon Hill & Moore.....they are both solid role players but are not NBA quality starters.

Now I don't know much about our contract and cap situations, but I'm curious to know what our PT guys with much more knowledge than me see for the Pels future....Let's just say next 3 years.

the die is cast so all we can do is see it thru now
Moore and hill be will be here three years
they are historically low usage players who are being asked to do more at the moment
what the pels need is another high usage player and obviously holiday is the next man up

jrue holiday is much better than people think and IF he can stay on the court it will make a huge difference this year. and IF hield develops that's a pretty good 1st three with Davis. find some rim protection and you have a mid tier playoff team

We'll overpay Jrue when he has only played 50% of his games here so we have no idea how much he can really help this team, Or he walks and we have no pg, We gave Hill 45mil to give us 2pts and 1reb, We have 0 shot creators, we are paying Asik crazy money to play 10mins per game, and we have a GM that has no idea to evaluate talent. So it's a shitty future for this franchise.

Did you forget fraizer exists?

Fraizer isn't relevant he's a back pg that comes a dime a dozen. You guys do this with every obscure player who plays well. You guys were jerking off to Ish nightly but he's now irrelevant. Fraizer has played decent for his role after being an unknown but all I've seen from Fraizer playing well is LLLLLLLLLosses. The things you guys need to understand when we get these guys and they play but we lose is that someone has to get those points. They are not difference makers and will not help us win.

Nah. I'm a bit more optimistic than I was.

There are some pieces.

If this team has Jrue, and say...Gordon Hayward, and Buddy develops...

That's a good team, I think.

I just can't see a decent FA coming here. They will need to hit in the draft imo.

Is it overpaying him if that's what he'll get on any other team?

No, but Jrue won't be offered a max from other teams. He has barely played in 4 years. Jrue and his agent has all the leverage against us with you have no pg, you traded 2 lotto picks for him, you call him and Davis your core, you have 0 scorers outside of Davis, and If he walks you are left with 0 play makers in small market that cant attract free agents. If he is offered 16 here and 16 in a winning situation or a big market he will easily leave. I see it as CP3 going to Spurs and Jrue leaving for the Clippers.

I agree with 42 here

quote:

That leaves free agency, or related forced trades, etc. They simply need a player to say, “I want to be in New Orleans.” The best way to make them say that is to do make Davis absolutely incandescent. Even at the expense of wins, this has to be the case. Forcing conversation about Davis needing help puts pressure on ownership in a way they can’t really complain about, while the actual individual success attracts talent and fans. They have enough exportable assets to make room for a free agent should the time come. If it doesn’t work, I don’t see a way to keep Davis, but it’ll be a fun ride.

If AD continues to do what he's doing than a good fA will come. We can't get a Tier 1 guy like Durant but a tier 2 guy? I think it can happen.

I'd lose my mind adding a guy like Hayward.

Respectfully disagree with most of what he wrote there and in that entire piece.

It will take more than "just" Davis being transcendent to attract a legit FA. Everyone knows his talent already.

We've seen it time and time again recently; ownership, coaching, culture, relationships play a huge role in FA decisions

Having Davis is a great headstart to building those things, but why would a perspective max FA look at what the organization has done the past 4 years and believe in them going forward? Why would board favorite Gordon Hayward choose NO over, for example, Boston? Remember, this team couldn't get a meeting with Parsons.

Hope it happens and maybe they can pull it off. But it will be because someone believes in the entire franchise, not just in Davis

That doesn't mean they're doomed. Just this magic bullet idea of super FA signing on isn't likely.

They are rebuilding 5 years in. Not ideal, but I like the moves they made. People need patience, which admittedly is a hard sell at this point. And people need to be okay with being the Joe Johnson Hawks or grit/grind Grizz. Doesn't have to be title or bust

Hayward is the next target up, but Butler and Paul George both will become UFA's before AD can force a trade. It's hard to read things 2-3 years out, but lets assume the top 4 stay more or less the same. Cavs/Warriors/Spurs/Clippers If you were a wing that wanted to join that conversation what team could you join?

Toronto? Maybe but they have no cap space and they already have an established 1 and 2.

Boston? Yes, they probably rate ahead of the Pels. They don't have a superstar to join but they have a lot of talent and a coach with a great reputation that also used to be Hayward's coach in college.

OKC? Maybe, I just don't know how GOATBrook is viewed around the league because of the selfish ballhog label.

Who else has either an abundance of riches like Boston or a tier 1 star like OKC?

Hayward might choose Boston over NOLA, but then where does Butler go, and then PG13? I don't think it's crazy for the Pels to get into the mix for these guys if AD can keep playing like the best player in the league.

bleak. No one wants to go to the games, no FA's want to sign here. Our front office blows. Some changes are needed
