Excited to continue playing for the Pelicans for the 2015-16 season. We made some big strides last year and are looking to do even bigger things under Coach Gentry's leadership. I appreciate all the fan support in NOLA and all over... For New Orleans Pelicans fans concerned about things that happened in 2012, do know that I've matured since then and want to be in New Orleans and make this city proud by winning... a lot! #?TakeFlight

He must read TD.

We've all made stupid mistakes when we were in our early 20s.

Alternative explanation, no one would give me this much money to play basketball.

You could tell a flip switched last year. For him to publicly acknowledge he goofed and wants to be here is a welcome sight even for the non haters.

ETA: What more do people want from him? What incentive is there for him to come out and say this? Let it go people.

as one of his biggest haters, I agree. last year it seems he completely turned his attitude around and has become the person we want him to be. it could be a façade but i'm choosing to believe he has embraced us and is all in.

Winning cures all. His body language was completely different. He played through injury and looked like he was having fun out there. He doesn't have the same explosion that he used to have but he shot the frick out of the ball. If he repeats last years performance I'll be happy. And you can't hate on the dude for getting paid. I think in retrospect he's thinking what might have been had he gone to Phoenix. He realizes that he made the right decision both financially and competitively.

Him coming to the BSS watch party and interacting with fans last year won me over personally. I mean, really, how many max contract guys do that?

I have nothing against him. He is not worth his contract, but I put that more on Dell than him.

People can downvote the GIF all they want, but I don't believe him. I believe he has accepted his situation and decided to be a a mature professional. Thus, he has become a decent performer and good teammate. Great.

But to think he really wants to be in NOLA or cares much at the end of the day about making the city happy is pretty delusional.

That said, it's professional basketball. If he gives the effort he gave last year again, we'll all be happy with him.

That's your opinion and I sort of agree to a certain point. I think there is a difference between him loving the team and loving the city. I really think he is happy with the team situation. He obviously likes playing with these guys. It is a vastly different situation than he was faced in 2012. I think you could drop this team in Boise and he would have the same feelings. I don't think he has embraced the city but he has certainly embraced this team.

I think it's more of him embracing the team as well but I think he has started to appreciate the city to a certain extent. Still, I agree with your point that he'd be happy with asituation like this regardless of the city

Crazy how you are the only person here that knows exactly what EG is thinking and feels about NOLA. The team sucked arse when he got here, I would not have wanted to be here either after being traded from a team that had the building blocks to be a playoff team year in year out. But to say that you know that he doesn't care much is delusional.

If he resigns with the Pelicans after this season for say no more than 9 million per year on a 3-4 year deal, then I will believe him

Lol the salary cap goes up 20+ million next year. Don't think 9 million will win EG's heart over haha.
