I have been reading this board non stop since the trade went down on Thursday night. I feel that the single most over looked aspect of this trade, and the future of the Pels, by some of our fans is Anthony Davis. We won the lottery already and got our "once in a decade" type prospect. If he is the player we all think he is, he will take a major step forward over the next two years. Now we have a 23 yr old All Star pg and a 24 year old shooting guard with the talent to be a 20ppg guy. Now Dell needs to make one of his "ninja GM moves" (my favorite thing I have read over the last few days) for a small forward.

If AD is who we think he is and EG is relatively healthy, we weren't going to win less than 35 games next season anyway. I love the direction this franchise has taken. Dell and Monty are putting their faith in the development of AD, Jrue, and EG. I'll take it moving forward.

I agree. But lately, teams need atleast 2 of these types of players if not more.

I love that we will have some actual talent that it will be put up or shut up for Monty too. I'll pull for him to succeed, but just because we have legit talent now, he can't rest on his laurels. He better bring his A game too.

We definitely need to add some pieces, but I'll take our top 4 players at 20, 23, 24, and 24 years old respectively. The legitimately could average 70 points a game between the four of them this year, if healthy. We need to be smart with how we fill out our roster. Their age and length of contracts allows them to grow together.

Is this similar to the Chris Paul effect? If so, expect 2nd round exits.

If Gordon and the rest of the core can stay healthy I think second round exit this yr but can see a lot more the year after

Anthony Davis is a national champion. He knows how to lead a team to the title.

Davis can be a superstar big. Superstar bigs >>>> superstar point guards.

On what planet is Anthony Davis a "once in a decade" prospect?

Chris Paul is very good. He fills the stat sheet. However, he has never been past the second round in his career, even after he chased the "big market" and got to play with Blake Griffin.

Comparing the two as prospects, AD was a consensus #1 pick who is 6'10" and was the consensus college player of the year who led his team to a NC in his only year. CP was a 6'0" PG, the #4 player picked, and the second PG picked. I know he has been better than that in the NBA, but looking at player ceilings at 20 years of age you have to give the edge to AD.

Guess you weren't a Hornets fan who actually followed the team last year during all the draft coverage...

LeBron and Andrew Wiggins are once in a decade prospects, Anthony Davis is not.

LeBron is LeBron, no prospect has ever been on that level. Andrew Wiggins is not on LeBron's level.

I guess you missed all of the articles that were written last year saying that AD would have went #1 over every player except for LeBron and possibly Oden since 1997 when Tim Duncan was drafted. Look at the list of #1's since LeBron, 10 years ago, and tell me who you take over AD. AD is the definition of a "once in a decade" type of prospect.

So you'd trade Davis for the #1 pick in the draft next year?

Garnett from his rookie year (age 19) to 2nd year (age 20).

The Twolves were 26-56 his rookie year and 40-42 in year two and made the playoffs (basically on KG, Gugs, and Marbury's shoulders).

AD's rookie year on a 26-55 team. Looking forward to a team with AD, Gordon, Holiday, Anderson in 2013-2014
