Mayor Landrieu's 2016 budget assumes more parking revenue for the city by increasing the price and the hours for parking meters...

this is an issue because lots of fans park at meters and walk to the SKC, Dome, Champions Square for free for night events. the meters last for 2 hours maximum, and of course you can't leave and reenter to put more time on them.

i'm thinking the Bensons are behind this as everyone who walks is $15 of parking revenue they're missing out on

He may get the $ in price, but he'll have serious resistance in extending the hours. Just like last time.

Why would the Bensons be behind this?

They're not. The argument, I guess, is that they would end up with increased parking revenue from the Superdome lots.

You think mitch is helping tom make more money?

Mitch is just being the prick he has always been. This is a money grab for the city. Nothing more.

1. I highly doubt the Bensons are behind this.
2. Don't care don't park in NOLA, but it sucks for yall that do so you have my condolescences.
3. NOLA just needs to legalize prostitution, marijuana, and cocaine and apply a 15% tax and their $$$ problems will be solved.

I don't think Benson is behind this. With that said, it's pretty damn shitty. So unless you choose to pay 15-20 bucks for event parking, there will be no place to park for the game. This may be the reason why I do not buy season tickets next year, no matter how good the team is. I park on the surface streets, and use that 15-20 bucks for dinner. I make 25-30 games a year, and try to make sure that my tickets are used (usually given away on here) when I cannot attend. 20 bucks isn't that big of a deal every now and again, but 20 bucks x 30 games a year is almost the cost of my tickets.
