Would love to see us somehow deal reke and Asik and get a few decent players with small contracts that are almost up for this season. Start developing our young players and get ready for a big off season next year.

I think thats what all of us would want. Problem is that it is tough to convince other teams to deal us their decent players with small contracts in exchange for injury-prone players that turn the ball over and are on big contracts.

Sign Bazemore and call it an offseason.

Batum will not come to NO.

So, sign Bazemore and do nothing with the remaining 8 mil in cap space?

Begin the tank process- get another top 3 pick in 2017. Trade Reke for a 2017 late first. Build build build.

I mean how much can you do now a days with 8 mill? You can sign a role player but we have a couple of those already. Plus we will need money to throw at Holiday next year. We lose him and we are fricked.

Bird Rights, brah.

I would like them to try to sign Solomon Hill with that 8 mil. 3 year/25 mil.

Asik/Ajinca
Davis/Hill/Cunningham
Bazemore/Pondexter
Hield/Evans
Holiday/Frazier

Sign Allen Crabbe and Marvin Williams, maybe Terrance Jones.

I really hope Asik somehow has a decent first half of the season so maybe we could move him mid season

Do y'all think we could snag Harkless from Portland?

He's still only like 23.

I wouldn't throw big money at anyone just sign 3 solid rotation players and have a deep team this year

Would probably have to go into 8 figures to sign him away, because he's a RFA.

This is what I think is the best plan. Don't have a a gaping hole at SF, but fill it with guys like Dudley, make it back to the playoffs and look like a team that's a starting SF away from being great.

Having extra cap space for next year when we might actually be a able to attract a decent free agent wouldn't be a bad thing.

Is Crabbe/Marvin/TJones not solid rotation players, or do you think they will cost too much?

How much do we have anyway? $30M?

Seems like T Jones is more of a 4 these days, huh?

Crabbe is a RFA I think. I doubt Portland lets him sign anywhere else.

By definition you'll have to overpay Crabbe to steal him away. I just think if you're starting your SF shopping in the middle tiers and don't think the long term solution is the guy you'll sign this year, Dudley should be your top target because you know he'll play well in Gentry's system. If you have enough cap space left over sure take a flyer on someone else, but I think Dudley should be one of the top targets for SFs under $10 million. I also think this team is in desperate need of veteran leadership like Dudley can provide and yet another "young vet" on his 2nd contract won't.

Don't think we have quite that much.

Gee still has to decide on his player option and has until the 27th. If I was him I would decline it. Also have to decide on the cap holds and all that too.

I'll take Dudley. I agree with getting a nice veteran. And i see your point if we have to overpay for Crabbe. If he's not the future at the position, don't overpay today.

I'd really like to get Marvin Williams. He's Ryno with defense. Shot 40% from 3 this past year, and has been 36% or better 4 of the last 5 years. I think he might fetch more money than expected.
He can play the 4 and the 3.
Marvin, like Batum, has said he wants to return to Charlotte. They must be doing something right over there.

Assuming healthy players, we need a 3 and a backup 4, and probably another 2. I'll take EG back for the minimum. Gee should not be on the roster.
