Nola.com is obviously pretty bad. Did they publicly blame BBS guys for doing whatever they supposedly did?

But McNamara is embarrassing himself by going on this crusade. Let your work speak for itself.

I am not trying to take their audience, or champion BSS over them. Again, all I want is for them to get better. Ideally, so I could retire forever and you all can get top notch local coverage.

Don't you guys want the same? I just want to move the complaining about them on forums over us letting them know, in a very respectful way, that we want better. I do not feel embarrassed by doing that. At all.

No. I just stopped going to nola.com for sports news. It's really their loss, I used to go there daily, but they fell out of the rotation a few years ago.

Maybe I'd feel differently if TD, BSS, TBW and The Advocate weren't picking up the slack, but I really don't see a problem with my access to news about the Pelicans. As for the people that still go to the TP, that will change in time, especially as the advocate steps up.

I'd like to point out that Aced hasn't made a single post since he pointed out that he isn't McNamara.

There's certainly a battle going on between the media outlets of our pels.

Bourbon Street Shots/The Bird Writes are not media outlets - they're fan blog sites. Albeit very interested fans…but fans just the same.

This does not mean Nola.com is not a bunch of hacks. Just that this is not a war between 'local media outlets'.

The real problem is the generally pathetic sports coverage by our legitimate local media outlet - Times-Picayune. Jimmy Smith is just one symptom…others include Rosetta and Kleinpeter.

I would also throw in horrible copy editing as well - just try to read a nola.com article in general without finding at least 2-3 egregious grammatical errors.

I am sure the mods or whoever can very easily check the IP addresses. It wouldn't be that hard to do. I don't know where he is, but I can safely say he likely isn't in Provo, Utah. Case closed.

I also think it is pretty easy to look at his writing style and mine and see that they are in no way similar. Not that one is better than the other, but they aren't close.

"His" writing style has basically been:

Check out what McNamara says

If he isn't you, you should buy him a drink.

TP sports coverage, especially pelicans coverage, is irrelevant at this point. i get all i need from other sources, paid & unpaid

the issue to me is that new orleanians are hard-wired to seek information from the TP, and it makes me both angry and sad that it has fallen this far. be that as it may, nothing new or valuable or insightful is found there

I just think the way you went about it on Twitter was pretty tacky. Then championed everyone that responded to you to write the higher-up.

You say you want them to get better, but it sounded originally that you were upset that someone was accusing you of making comments on their articles?

Honestly I don't care if they get better or not. The only thing I read Nola.com for is there recruiting coverage. Everything else is pretty bad.

I just don't see why you would even care that much. I think yall target a different audience, with a higher level of fandom. And if they are accusing you of something, just get a laugh out of it. I don't think it's going to hurt your rep.

After reading your posts I realize who you are. Welcome

Do y'all get paid for writing this stuff and promoting on Twitter? BSS is an ESPN affiliate so I'm assuming you do
