Maybe i don't. Enlighten me.
to me, it's what percentage the person is used on offense when they are in the game.
If Cousins touches the ball twice as much as Gasol does, wouldn't he have ample more opportunities to score more and assist more?

It is, but he's on a crappy team. 4 of the top 5 scoring centers this year played on crap teams.
I"m not saying he's not really good by the way, just saying he's a headcase and racks up stats on a crappy team, and if most teams had to chose between the two, i think they would pick Gasol, at least i would.
