I think people are already using the shortened "Pels" a lot. Doesn't really have to be anything "official" other than the franchise and the league allowing the use/licensing of the name on merchandise, etc.

you know... I wouldn't be against a "fauxback" uniform in the style of the old ABA Buccaneers that says "Pels" instead of "Bucs"
