If the Pels win 35-40 games this year and there is no major injury to AD to blme it on, does Gentry get canned? The entire point of firing Monty was to make a hire that would take us to the next level. I understand we have injuries and are playing a new system, but right now we are getting blown out, which was rare under Monty, even during the non-playoff years. I say if we win less than 45 games and/or get swept in the first round of the playoffs again that we need to cut bait after year 1.

That is hard to answer, especially given the ownership situation. I can't imagine they would want to do a buy out this early. I would hope that Demps would be gone, but he seems to have some kind of blackmail material on Loomis or Benson. Next offseason is a long way away, but there will be a ton of turnover that summer. Teams will have too much money to spend and lots of mistakes will happen. There is something to be said for keeping the status quo and letting the smoke clear before making any major moves..

Dell would be fired. He put his neck on the line and went all in with Gentry. He fired a coach that just went to the playoffs.

Pels need to somehow get that #1 pick in the draft and get simmons. Get it done however you can.

It hasn't been reported publically, but Dell might have gotten an extension this summer.

So, no. In the UNLIKELY event that this happens, I wouldn't expect a major shakeup

Depends on the choices to replace him. The GM talent pool is more shallow than the HC talent pool. If you didn't fire Demps you almost had to recommit to him some.

At the very best, rosiest view, he has done a mediocre job. At worst, he has handcuffed the franchise with nearly every deal he has made. He deserved to be fired every bit as much, more in my opinion, as Monty. Nope, extension. This is how you become Garnett's Timberwolves.

So what are your thoughts on this early mess?

Bump, but winning 35 games seems to be unlikely at this point.

It's reasonable if we get healthy soon, playoffs are out the window. What is the time table on q pon and Cole?

We are never getting healthy. This team has some of the softest players imaginable running a fast paced offense that makes players even more prone to injuries. Not to mention we have some of the worst doctors on the planet.

Well I mean half arse healthy, like when will we get back some good role players. It's a gaurentee that we will have 1 of Jrue, Gordon, Reke or Anderson out at all times

Too true . I dunno man. I'm fed up after 3 years of this shite. So many injuries to all of these players we got via FA/trades. Just seems like nothing was progressing.
