As someone who has experienced something similar, it really eats away at you more than anyone who hasn't been there could ever understand. Finding a loved one dead is unfathomable, and I feel terrible for Ryan. This is a sad situation, and hits way too close to home. I can't stand seeing this happen to anyone, especially a good guy like Ryno.

My grandfather committed suicide last September. To me these types of deaths take the longest to move on from. Your constantly thinking that maybe you could have done something different. My uncle found my grandfather and he's still messed up from it. Prayers for Ryno. It's gonna be rough.

I've been close to one person in my life who committed suicide... If he came back to life, the first thing I would do is punch him in the face.

It's the most selfish act imaginable. I hope Ryan can recover from something so gut-wrenching. I can't even imagine.

SIAP... NY Daily News is reporting she hung herself.

My situation is very similar to Ryan's. It was my father though, and I was 12 when it occurred. I still have my moments where I just have to be away from everything and to myself because of flashbacks, it's very difficult to overcome. It was really bad for me in high school at times, but has gotten progressively better thankfully. The worst part about suicides is that you never truly understand the reasoning, you never really get that closure.

I updated the OP to include a link that has the story from the AP. Ryno released a statement to them.

Statement from Ryan Anderson:
quote:

"I'm deeply grateful for all the love and support we have received from family, friends and fans. Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile. She had such an amazing impact on my life and anyone that knew her was blessed. All I have left is to cherish those memories we made together and help perpetuate the many values, faith and love that we shared."

I feel the same. Inside Edition was on the main TV when I went to eat dinner and they did a brief 5 minute story on her. Made me sad to think about it. Really hope Ryno comes out strong from this, because that's a major life-changing event.

I sent him supportive messages yesterday. I'd be shocked to see people trolling. Ryan's a good guy and anyway you slice this, it's still a tragedy.

So sorry to hear that man. While she didn't commit suicide, I found my mom dead when I was 14. It's the hardest thing ever to lose a parent at a young age, and I can't imagine being in your situation. Stay strong man

it's really annoying how some sites like TMZ (and some user comments) are already starting to hint the blame on their "rocky" relationship. it's a horrible situation all around and no one will know the truth. however that being said Ryan seems like a good guy and doesn't deserve that.
(btw I posted this in the O-T thread, but wanted this board to see it as well)
Gia was well known for dating professional athletes - Chris Campoli from the NHL (while she was on the bachelor show apparently), Carl Pavano from MLB, and now Ryan Anderson. according to this magazine interview she had a pretty bad relationship with Carl Pavano.

Gia Allemand, one of the final three ladies on "The Bachelor," has quite the history with former Yankees pitcher Carl Pavano.

in March 2007, Gia famously dumped Pavano right before he took the mound for the Yankees' opening day game. In a second Steppin' Out article, Gia told editor Chaunce Hayden:

"Carl and I are enemies. I hate him. And I never use that word. He's an a*****e! ... The time when I needed Carl the most he hasn't been there. Yea, I was the one that trained him and got him there all year I stood by him and didn't work so I can help him out, and he cheats on me. Nice right? Now that he's doing well he just thinks he can push me to the side. I have been nothing but there for him. I put all my dreams on hold so he can fix his career and now he's not there for me. He has bad karma. Anyone that can do what he did to me will get what they deserve ... I've been seeing my ex on and off for six years."

Gia's media assault on Pavano continued with an interview in the New York Post in which she characterized their relationship as being "as bad as Carl's pitching!"
