Stoked for the Pelicans, but you can't tell me reppin white & gold as the New Orleans Magnolias wouldn't be clean (as the kids say)

He also sounds like someone not expecting to be traded in the next few weeks.

He doesn't need to be traded... by any means.

Unless it involves us getting Brandon Jennings... or a MAJOR upgrade at SF. That's it.

Why would we trade him? I think he's a good option to come off the bench at the 5.

Because of his trade value. If a trade is happening this offseason I'd say Vasquez or Lopez are the most likely to be involved.

Don't want to start another thread. I value your opinion. What do you think it'd take to get Cousins. Lopez and what else? Or what? He's my latest crush. I want someone like him next to AD. And Monty would be the perfect coach for him.

New ownership wanting to dump him. That's the only way he comes at anything close to an affordable price. I think quite a few teams would make a move for him. Off the top of my head I think Boston would push the hardest but I've seen a lot of interest in centers from Cleveland in this draft and if they wanted Cousins they have a lot of assets to trade.

So, I should start stalking someone else?

I think Lopez gets unnecessarily bashed. He is a solid player with a favorable contract. No he isn't a superstar or a cornerstone, but I think he is a valuable part of the team at a pretty reasonable cost (for the NBA).

Yeah, I hear ya. I'm not a Lopez "hater". You just never know what you're gonna get from him on a nightly basis. Some games he looks awesome. Other games I'm calling him filthy names.

You're over-analyzing the statement.

That's the problem. I don't see anyone "wanting" to move him. And if they did, other teams could offer better trades. We couldn't beat out a Rondo for Cousin's deal.

Rohan over at ATH did a good post season analysis of his rebounding and concluded that although Lopez himself doesn't have good defensive rebounding numbers, the team has good defensive rebounding numbers when he's on the floor. So I'm more open to him staying the starter now as long as Vasquez isn't starting also. Together they are just too easy to exploit in the P&R.
