My big take away from last night is really understanding how good Boogie actually is. I've seen him on occasion and on highlights on SC but last night really opened my eyes.

He is probably the most physically imposing post player since Shaq. His ability to pin defenders and create good angles to receive the ball in the post was a thing of beauty to watch and he was doing it against a physically strong guy in Nene.

His ball skills and shooting touch are at a guard level which is unbelievable for a man his size. He also has a good understanding of floor spacing and can play D. It was also pretty clear that he and AD can play together if we get the right supporting staff.

The hard part for building a championship team is done. Now it is up to Pels management not to screw up the much easier part of building complimentary players around them.

I agree he is a star, like AD....

Crazy NO got him.....

Puzzle pieces all of them.....we just need to add a well thought out pieces, 3,4,5 to be put together.

We also need the Right General to lead the group...

There is a light.... For the first time here in the crescent city.... :

I have to admit - I really wanted him to just lay out Nene with an elbow to the face and take the game suspension. Really.
I also wanted to see some slam dunks from him that would have just ignited the crowd instead of the soft lay ins.
But damn, that was the most exciting 30 point loss I've ever watched. Last night we had our best seats ever, and I bought season tickets again next year after giving mine up this season. I just hope Gentry doesn't ruin this and run Boogie off next season.

The remaining games this season are basically an experiment. If Gentry can't make it work with 2 superstars he's out and the Pels will have a new coach going into next season.

Boogie is more like Moses Malone around the basket than Shaq (i.e. Lots of simple dunks and layups and less backboard rattling dunks). Still extremely effective but not as exciting.

I think we all knew he could do that. What I didn't know was how good of a passer and floor spacer he is. I was somewhat concerned that he would "clog" the lane and hurt AD's game but that will not be an issue IMO. If anything the both of them being good in space and good outside the lane will in turn open the lane up for the other one when on the floor together.

Let's take the current Rockets starters for example. If Pels had a solid scoring SF, the Rockets would have been screwed with Anderson was on the floor. Moore being a bad offensive player allowed Houston to hide Anderson on him and allowed Ariza to guard AD.

DC was awesome he is a true beast. We need to slow the game down when playing the true run and gun teams. We do not have the shooting to keep up

We need to run some hi low sets.

His outside touch would be good for a back court player. It's unbelievable for a 7" 300# beast of a human being.

Another thing is the pelicans need to understand they have a bug the will post up early and seal off his guy a back to the basket player

This is new to them. I saw a few times where we did not even look down low early at DC

But 1st game next is Dallas

Cousins plays very physical. When a guy like they plays really physical, he's gonna get it right back.

Do you expect the defenders to just let him do whatever he wants without a fight down low?

You're just frustrated Nene didn't give in and let Cousins do whatever he wanted like you expected him to.

Nene was being as big of a bitch as beverely was without receiving a foul. If cousins didn't have one tech left I'd say frick it. Lay em out.

No. Cousins needs to turn the page and build a new rep with the officials. It might take a full year to do, but he's a superstar, he should be getting superstar calls.

You know the pelicans don't get those calls. It was like an away game last night. And I hear what you saying but you can be a bully and still be effective. Randolph did it lol.

You're being biased. They were both being physical.

When they got called for the double foul, Cousins kept trying to box out Nene by putting his elbow up by his face and pushing his face back. Nene didn't like that obviously and grabbed his arm to get it out of his face.

They were both being physical.

As I said, you just went in thinking Cousins was going to get whatever he wanted without a fight. And when you saw a defender being physical in return, which made it difficult for Cousins, it frustrated you.

Go watch the game again with a fair mind.

Cousins had a nice game. I'm saying Nene wasn't going to make it easy for him. He was going to work for his points.

Cousins was a block short of a 5x5 and AD still got his. Even with Jrue shitting the farm and none of our guards able to make an NBA basket. This team needs to find guard help fast because those two have serious potential.

I love physical play. There's a difference in being physical for the sake of it and doing what you want because you know one guy has a rep as a hot head and you can get away with much more because of the rep and they automatically think the other did the dirt.

Go look at the play where Cousins and Anderson got tied up as another example. Cousins was the one grabbing and pushing and he got called for the foul.

Cousins does a lot of fouling himself, yet you don't pay any attention to it when he's being too physical. You want to point fingers at the other guy when they return the favor.

Go rewatch the game and stop being so biased.
